How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Small room with no bath (£380 for 3 days). Weird having no window, but this was as advertised. Difficult to tell if day or night and what weather was like outside. No full English breakfast.
Ideal location if you’ve got a conference at the EICC, just 100m from the front door. Although not full English breakfast, was very nice continental breakfast and well stocked with fresh stuff (only one coffee per person). Room small, but very modern with touch buttons and good air conditioner and nice and quiet.

Little pricy for what it was.
Great location, close to the centre and anything you may need during your visit. Nice lounge area downstairs. Room was clean and cozy, with an incredibly comfortable bed. We slept like babies.

The same breakfast every morning and, on top if that, not too much to choose from - People moving chairs in the restaurant at 1AM which you can easily hear if you leave on top of it

Maybe work on soundproofing as you can hear neighbor's doors and whenever they're using water in the bathroom as the drainage is quite noisy. For the TV, maybe it was a wifi issue but in both rooms I booked, YouTube was virtually impossible to watch, with a lag happening every 30 seconds.
Enjoyed the room's aesthetic and it was nice and clean. The bed was pretty comfortable for a night's rest. I liked the touches of mirrors and clothes hangers, great for checking outfits and hanging coats :) Plus the staff were pretty helpful with checking in and checking out the hotel as we had two rooms booked under one name, so that was lovely!

A very badly handled incident with a card machine that was faulty and had been faulty, rejecting other guests' debit cards, UK and European banks alike, ruined our day! As I walked into breakfast with my son, the rude male employee suited at the coffee machine/cash register called me loudly 'Your card is declined!' He then ignored us, did not make conversation though another German guest walked up to my son and I and explained that this machine was faulty and it had happened before. No response and no friendliness from the hotel male employee. It was an important conference day for me and this incident was off-putting before the first cuppa of the day. I will only pay cash and return here if the Haymarket Hotel I usually stay at, is fully booked. They are Scottish friendliness inside out. You can fix a glitch in your hi-tech system but you cannot put a smile on a cold and unkind employee. Fix the machine and train your male staff to be as outstanding as the females. He was a little higher in rank and ranked well below par on hospitality and human friendliness.
The facilities were excellent and hi-tech. In minimal space, well-designed to high standard. The reception ladies were welcoming and accommodating of luggage storage as well as the lounge downstairs was very nice equipped with coffee/tea facilities. Great design!

The room was cold and the heating was very slow. The room was cleaned once each three days and the towels were not changed. The last thing that dissapointed us is that if you book in this web or another, you have to pay for the breakfast. However, if you book in their website directly, the breakfast is free.
The hotel is near the city centre, it seems modern and the furniture is almost new. Personal is very nice and the process to check in and check out is easy to do. The look for our luggage while we do a 2-day trip near the city and we are very grateful for that.
