Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo kettle etc. But we knew this and brought our own. Only one large towel each and one pillow. Would have like an extra pillow and a hand towel. The duvet made a scratchy noise that woke me up when I moved in the night.
It was easy to find. Welcoming and the rooms were spotlessly clean.

United KingdomUnexpected scaffolding outside the property (but was not too noisy), water pressure in the shower could be better 1 socket by the bed wasn't working but I managed
Staff were quite accommodating - allowed me to book an impromptu early check in which was needed as I was so tired and honoured by late check our request. The bar/mini shop downstairs was great. Nice, clean facilities - the no window room I selected wasn't too bad; bathroom was nice and plus and the mirror didn't fog in in the middle which was useful. Not too far from the West End Bus/Tram stop (8 min walk) and other bus stops and food shops/restaurants were in reach! I liked the light effect inside the room Bed was nice and comfortable! Veryyy good value for money and great customer service all round! Good for a cute/long stay!

United KingdomThe room was a little small but honestly I don’t mind this at all. It was completely in keeping with the reasonable price we paid.
The location of this hotel was really great, close to the Haymarket tram/train/bus stop. It is a modern very clean hotel with everything you need. It had a self check in feature which was very handy as we had completed the pre check in. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was modern and clean. It even had an ironing room which was very handy.

GermanyThe location is perfect, close to Haymarket station and short walk to Princess St, Royal Mile and Grassmarket. It's a lot more modern than the Point A in Glasgow and very comfortable for a budget hotel. I'd definitely stay again.

United KingdomToilet in room wasn't very clean and the shower hadn't been cleaned at all. I would stay here again but I would bring antiseptic wipes as the hygiene of the bathroom wasn't great. No kettle in room but this wasn't major as they was a payed coffee machine downstairs.
The location was excellent pretty close to everything. The museums, Dean Village, Art Galleries both Modern and National museum. We loved our stay. This hotel is super affordable great for people on a budget.

Despite not managing the self check in the staff were helpful and welcoming, making the process swift and easy. The room was small but well designed and decent for the price in the location. The bathroom was spacious and clean.

IrelandNo way to open the window . Aircon unit only
Friendly staff, not far from city and close to Haymarket station. Room was compact.. only complaint was that there was no way to open the window for air.. Although I was on the 4th floor, I would have preferred to open the window than use the air-conditioning. There is no kettle in the room. I didn't have breakfast but it looked very nice. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe shower water pressure wasn’t very strong… Breakfast buffet options were very small, I wouldn’t pay for the breakfast again
Staff were kind and accommodating! My room was originally on the ground floor and there was roadworks being done— before I said anything, the lady at the desk offered to find me another room and I ended up on the top floor with a great view! Comparing prices to the hotels nearby, this was great! I was able to walk to and from Edinburgh castle in about 15/18 minutes

United KingdomJust worth noting that the lower ground floors don’t have windows, so no airflow. Rooms could do with tea and coffee making facilities (I totally appreciate it wasn’t mentioned in the listing, just an observation). No hand towel in our room.
Excellent location, and a really great option for what we’d consider a budget price. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Excellent lighting controls in the room.

United KingdomThe room was on the small side. There wasn't much storage space, so we left most of our clothes in our bags and stored under the bed. No tea making facilities in room. No cooked breakfast option (but enjoyed the continental choices that were available).
A very well presented hotel with tidy, modern rooms and very friendly, chatty reception staff. Bed was comfortable, room was well sound-proofed with a good shower, and our inner child liked playing with the colour changing light controls. We enjoyed early evening drinks in reception, and having a world's choice of food on our doorstep.
