How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was very small, no space to open the luggage, no hangers. The bed was incredibly small, the duvet was not made for two people. We couldn't fix the airco, and at night it was too fresh. The entrance to the shower is too small. The elevators are small: one person+one big luggage only could fit. All additional services, like early check-in or luggage deposit, are to be paid separately.
Personnel was friendly and responsive. It is well located, close to train/metro/bus stops.

The only bad aspect was the size of the room, which was REALLY small. I usually don't mind small hotel rooms, but that one was really really small.
Breakfast was great but it could get crowded. Nice lobby and helpful staff. Generally nice hotel!

Whilst I appreciate the policy to limit "extras" to a minimum, I think a hair-dryer would be a small but very useful addition to the rooms.
The location is excellent as a base for the Eurostar. Although the rooms are small, they are very clean and the staff were helpful. Despite being next to a very busy road, very little noise seeped into the room.

the room was extremely small, just space for the bed (which was definitely too small for 2 people). the shower was US-style (fixed high on wall), with low pressure. Lots of noise from street. no kettle in room (coffee/tea at reception for 2.50).
the hotel is like a 3-star hotel, better than expected given the price. the room and bathroom (although tiny) were nicely designed. Breakfast was better than in most hotels of this price/rating.

The beds were probably 180-190 cm long, so my feet were hanging off the edge, and I'm not even that tall.. The bathroom door was glass and didnt completely close, so if you want to be romantic maybe not.. Wifi didnt work in our room one day. we made a complaint and it was sorted :)
Slept very well in the bed, and I have trouble sleeping due to back pain. Location is not even 5 minutes walk from Kings cross station/Eurostar, so ideal. There is a great bakery and breakfast/lunch place across the road. Staff also super friendly. Nice lobby to sit in.

No tea/coffee making facilities in room had to pay £2.50 for each cup downstairs in foyer. There weren’t any cups, a member of staff had to fetch some and assist in making the drink. In our room there was a bright green light admittedly was for safety , but wasn’t great for trying to get to sleep.
The location was very good. Close to St Pancras and Kings Cross stations
