Being too close to the lift, lots of people coming and going. Not having a walk in shower.

Option to have late breakfast was good. Doors closed slowly to prevent banging.

The bar. I called in for a drink after a meal out, around 9pm. There were two barmen who didn't have a clue. Not at all. I had to point to the beer pump I wanted - their English was not up to it - and they made a complete hash of pouring a pint. I've never seen so much beer wasted. 1/4 beer, 3/4 head, dump it out, same again, dump it out, same again... eventually I got 90% of a pint and reckon I was lucky. As for the Malibu and orange... I had to point along the row of bottles, they had no idea of what measure to use, and eventually after explaining many times what orange juice was - pure orange, fresh orange, all the permutations - I got a dash of orange cordial. I'm laid back so just took it with a smile, but didn't go back for a second try. It was no big deal - to me - but I can see it causing problems with others who are not so relaxed about it.

I like the Atlantic, it seems disloyal of me to find anything to criticise as I've been calling there for many years now, usually on a short-notice whim, and it's a good no-frills place to stay in the heart of the town. The rooms are always good, better if you get a seaview (which I didn't) but I use hotels as sleeping and bathroom only, I usually eat out for every meal so, once established, as long as the bed is there for me to fall into, brilliant. I don't need spa facilities, free gowns or minibar, so it suits me down to the ground. Getting parked safely closeby can be a problem, too many boy racers doing doughnuts round the town these days and indeed I was woken in the early hours by someone very noisily revving their car outside in the street, but that's a minor point. Otherwise just as I expected - a night's stay in a convenient and comfortable spot.

Couldn't turn the bathroom light off. The tap in the sink was constantly leaking.

Location of the hotel is good, close to town centre, beautiful view from the bedroom, breakfast was lovely. Room was a little tired but it was clean and comfortable.

The room was noisy, my room was above a generator and I was awake from 4.00 in the morning, avoid the rooms 106., 107 looking out on the hotels car park

Bathroom pipes making constant noise throughout the night - strange and unpleasant noise. Small Stains on bedsheets and pillows, Bathroom lights are weird, no single button outside to turn off/on lights simply, key card has to be removed for that to happen Room freezing on arrival and radiator took some time to warm up.

The original room we were put it had a dreadful smell. We were moved, but it was clear the smell was disguised by having the window open on arrival room was freezing because if this the minute the window was closed the smell was awful...room 206 I believe.

We always book the Atlantic when staying in Portrush,it’s not the Ritz but is really comfortable, the staff are so friendly and helpful, breakfast is excellent, I have stayed in other hotels in Portrush but the Atlantic is my favourite

Limited parking space for Hotel Guests . Room could be updated and modernised.

Facilities poor.Hotel room was missing handle on window and safety lock on door.The room wasn’t particularly clean!A refurb was definitely needed. Patrons in the hotel didn’t use the bar facilities as they were so uninviting.
