A small table to eat on would be nice.

Modern / clean / compact rooms with great beds and full kitchen and bath located on the site of the old Spode factory grounds. 10 min. walk from train station. Lots of ammenities right around the corner.

I mean it was a little worn out but I feel it was fair for the price. There was a weird smell coming from the sink, but you can block it and then it's gone.

It's a large, "home-y" style room/studio next to a pub. If you need a night or two in Stoke, it feels like a safe bet, plus you can eat some good food in the pub downstairs. Everything worked and I could have a nice cup of tea, so can't complain. Sleep wasn't bad either, just the squeaky bed mattress could be changed.

I have stayed here before and it just wasn’t clean enough this time. Dusty and I found hair a fingernail in the bathroom. Room 108 needs a desk, the church pew sofa in there is a waste of space and utterly uncomfortable.

    Convenient location, quirky setup, spacious

The room could do with a table or vanity unit as storagespace is not great given the size of the room.

The location is very handy, and the rooms are clean.

Bit difficult to find the way in, which is through the restaurant. Had to wait for a while to check in as restaurant staff busy with other customers. Nice to have fresh milk, but it was on the turn, and not enough of it. 10am check out a bit early.

Was particularly grateful that they were able to store my bag after I checked out.

It was not well sign posted. The restaurant downstairs said they had no tables available - I was on my own so I would expect that to be an easy ask - I could only get food from them via a delivery app!? I did have a really nice breakfast the following morning. Although the accommodation was self catering it would be useful if property had an arrangement wit the on site restaurant. Bit of advice if coming from the station - turn right not left as the booking finder makes the walk much longer.

I did not realise that the property was part of the previous Spode factory. The room was large with a possible three person occupancy. Facilities good if you wanted to self cater- there was a large Sainsburys about 10 minutes away for provisions. See comments about on site restaurant below. If you are interested in Spode and pottery in general there is also an onsite museum with shop.

It was noisy in the early morning from delivery trucks and cleaners. In the room there was no table or luggage stand or dressing table area. Only 1 chair in the room for 2 people. There was no one from the main hotel to check us in, we had to find someone from the restaurant to help us as the hotel staff where unavailable even though we arrived within the designated time. No one to check us out either. Reception area was unmanned the whole time we visited.

The room was clean and tidy and well located with good access to the local area. The restaurant and bar was a great experience. The price was good value for a basic room.

I would have liked to have been able to leave my bag there for a few hours after checkout - especially since checkout is so early (10am).

Very comfortable bed and apartment. Lovely armchair but the sofa bench was very narrow. The room was spotless, spacious and the shower was great. You could control the heating, open windows and the wifi worked well. As for the location, it was perfect - had a great visit into the Spode visitors centre next door and three mins from the Hippy Cafe, London Road and ten mins from Staffordshire Uni. All questions were answered promptly and it was a relaxing - and quiet - place to stay.

Needs somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom instead of in the sink and on the loo. Bed springs were a bit noisy but reasonably comfortable. Room was too hot a didn’t respond to radiator settings, had to keep the windows open. Light in the kitchen area was too dim.

Clean, light and airy room with separate kitchen area.

I was staying alone and the corridors to the rooms are quite austere like a school corridor. I probably wouldn’t have noticed this if I’d been staying with others though. Alone I felt slightly vulnerable as also it’s an unmanned accommodation. The biggest thing I didn’t like was that a deposit was taken on arrival - not a credit card guarantee but the cash actually left my bank! And as of the day after I checked out it hasn’t been refunded. This makes for an expensive night and/or a very unwelcome borrowing of my money! If I’d had it straight back in check out day I wouldn’t have commented but to be without the money and not know when I’m getting it back is not acceptable in my view. There was no one to ask as it’s an unmanned reception most of the time. I messaged the property and they said it can take 8- 10 days to get your deposit back and that depends on your bank. I don’t think this is reasonable and it would stop me staying here again.

The person who checked me in was friendly. The actual room is a good enough size and very clean. There is direct access from Quarter and Factory floor. There are a lot of security doors where you need your key to get through.

Could have done with a spare toilet roll as there wasn't a full roll but I was only there one night so it wasn't too much bother.

Easy self check in and helpful friendly staff. Well equipped and comfortable, wifi was good - I was able to work without a problem and stream TV while relaxing in the evening. Close to the train station and shops but wasn't too noisy and the blinds kept the light out well.
