we hosted a lunch and the service and speed of the delivery of drinks to our table was not so good, so we hope next time things improve, as our food was first class and wine selection is brilliant, just top up the wine glasses and we would say everything is first class.

My only slightly negative observation is that they ought to invest in a couple of light fibre-fill duvets for guests with feather allergies. The blanket wrapped in a sheet is ok, but not particularly cosy.

Wonderful location, next to Arthur’s Seat, set in its own grounds. Top notch- and happy - staff. The decor may not be to everyone’s taste, but it has a coherent charm and is crammed full of antiques. Good quality afternoon tea.

A slight negative was that despite the amount we paid to stay here, having advised the hotel that this was the first stop on our UK honeymoon, I thought they may have made a bit more of an effort. Even simply a bottle of Prosecco on arrival for example. The room was also a little bit warmer than we would have ideally liked, but given the age of the house and temperatures that day, I don’t think you could expect otherwise and it was acceptable.

The venue, grounds, room, staff, food and overall experience were excellent, as always.

We love everything about Prestonfield House, from the moment we arrived to the moment we drove away. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are so well dressed, the beds, sooo comfortable, and everything you could need to make your stay comfortable is provided.

The staff is always so welcoming. It was a return visit, we spent four nights there. They anticipate your needs from remembering your drink preferences to replenishing the chocolates in your room with your favorite. It is a very cozy and inviting space. Hope to return again!

Great location minutes from the centre of town but surrounded by beautiful grounds and a fantastic view. Breakfast was perfect - full Scottish breakfast, porridge, rhubarb compote and the view included highland cattle and peacocks!

Yes, the rooms and common spaces were lovely, and the food and drink fantastic. But what made this stay so special were the staff. They made us feel like they were happy to see us and even a bit sorry when we were leaving. The attention was truly warming.

Strangely when sitting in whisky room then on all 3 occasions then no one came and asked if we would like a drink. After 15-20 mins then asked concierge in corridor if we could get menu and drinks 😳. He was then exceptionally helpful.

Staff ordered us a taxi told us it was coming waited outside for over thirty minutes no one checked on us to see we got our taxi eventually member of staff tried to get us another taxi couldn’t then got us an Uber , fortunately we got one but no customer follow up to make sure we were ok not happy and no one apologised and yes very aware it was match day but taxi ordered by staff one hour before pick up and even reassured us about booking

The showers ran very hot and then very cold, understandable with an old building but it did make the experience less enjoyable.
