Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhilst we were lucky with being able to park actually on the property; that would necessarily be the case in the event that more rooms were booked at any one time. As the property is located on quite a busy road considering the area, there was noticeable traffic noise, even late at night.
The room was exceedingly plush with a lot of thought having gone into the décor - the bed was also very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and suit all dietary requirements - the host could not have been more accommodating.

ItalyNo complaints. The bedroom was not large, but the bed very comfortable and there was a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers, the WiFi was very good (whereas the phone signals in the area are often poor or totally absent)
Classic old house, steeped in history and full of memorabilia. Our room looked onto the interesting rear garden. A great mix of quirky country style and modern comfort: very efficient central heating, bathroom quite modern with generous shower. The breakfasts were delicious, cooked to order with choice including a good vegetarian sausage, the breads varied and all great. Plus a vast choice of cereals, juices, jams and spreads....all tastes catered for. Margaret is a really warm and friendly hostess, providing maps and tourist advice if requested. Your room is totally "your own" for the duration of stay, but if you request additional supplies of drinks or biscuits, or for your bed to be made up, these services are provided. We stayed over Easter and came down to breakfast to find a creme egg on every plate - that little extra touch that makes Margaret a special hostess.

GermanyThe room was on the side where the main road passes the window. The first few nights were needed to get accustomed to the traffic noise. Parking will probably be a problem when you're not the only guests, as we were at the time. Trivial points really.
The tastefully decorated and well-maintained house is centrally located near the top of the hill, so that walking tours are easily accomplished. Margaret was a super host, a mine of information with plenty of recommendations for local restaurants and a readiness to help whenever it was necessary, although not interfering in any way. Breakfast was very comprehensive and freshly prepared.

AustraliaThe on site parking was a bit tight, only suitable for a very small car and a bit hairy backing out onto the main road. However there was other parking nearby which we felt was safer. Unfortunately the room we stayed in did not have room for our large suitcases only our small ones so we had to transfer what we needed to the small ones and leave the larger ones in the car.
The host was lovely and served a great breakfast and was helpful with information about the area. The location was good for exploring the area. The house was beautifully furnished and the garden was nice and peaceful to chill in.

United KingdomThe property is on a main road so there is a bit of road noise, and parking is limited But really, do see above - everything that is in the control of the business is top-notch!
Nothing was too much trouble for our host and her staff. On arrival, we were offered the chance to "upgrade" to another room, although in truth we would have been more than happy with the garden room we originally booked. Breakfasts were fabulous and freshly cooked to order, and we were offered top-ups to room supplies and general room servicing every day (as well as a daily After Eight and Caramelised Biscuit!) Otherwise, we were free to come and go as we pleased, as well as to make use of the drawing room (complete with piano and chaise longue... We would have no hesitation about recommending Queen Anne House to anyone looking to holiday in that part of Dorset.
