A lovely hotel with charming hosts, spotlessly clean and new sumptuous bed

Lighting v dark, couldn't make wall lights work with remote, started flashing and couldn't stop it. Unfortunately a vent started up from the kitchen rather noisily at 9 30 pm and filled the room with chip fat smell, had to open door to landing and extractor in shower

Lovely bed & bedding. Room rather cramped NEEDED a towel rail/shelf and rather dark, couldn't see dial in shower, v low pressure, ran cold so thought it was on wrong pointer had to use torch

There was very limited pressure in the shower .

Warm welcome, large double room, high end bed linen, very clean, recently updated rooms so it seems. Cool, but understated modern feel. Excellent breakfast ! All in all , nothing too much trouble.

The first room did not fit our requirements and this was handled in an impeccable manner by the owners. Which then set the standard for a great stay with the owners and family attentive to every detail.

The ground floor deco is outstanding. The architecture of the main building is outstanding. Along with the ambiance.

Breakfast choices; only children's cereal available, muesli would be good option or porridge. No vegan options. No mustard! Accessibility; couple of steps into building and possibly dangerous, uneven, steep slope as only alternative to other steps up to main door. Bathroom door too narrow to allow "walker" to be used. Shower hot but not much pressure.

Cooked breakfast was good, especially cooking of eggs, poached and fried. Lovely location. Welcoming staff. Quiet rooms.

It is currently going through a refurbishment and therefore the décor of the bedrooms is very dated. They are working on this and what has been revamped is to a high standard. I would have liked a hairdryer in the room. The table we had for breakfast was a little small for two people to eat at.

The staff and owners were very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast was good too. I would revisit after the refurbishment is complete.

The new owner, although only there, has been there a few months, has completed a vast amount of work. The Bar and breakfast area are great and comfortable. I look forward to the dining area being completed.

    nothing

Whilst Simon and Sam had only taken over a couple of months previously and have big plans for the place, there was nothing that took anything away from our stay, but they added tremendously to it - the perfect hosts, and Sam's breakfasts were great - she is to be commended

No hair dryer. Breakfast was a little underwhelming and we ate at a table that was. too small.

Goodish position and the fact that it had a swimming pool. The room was a little dated but then so am I, and we are both fine.

For our family group nothing it ticked all the boxes for us.

The location of the Hotel was in a quite part of the town opposite a church and with well kept front garden, the swimming pool was clean and warm, the rooms were well kept and clean upon arrival the owner was at reception to meet and greet this was excellent for us as one of our group was disabled, the breakfast was first class and we had four different orders for the member of staff, who was first class in her meet and greet. Overall I will give this Hotel a five star rate and if we are to come over to the I O W again I will book in if there was rooms avail.

Disappointed with the continental breakfast which apart from fruit juice and coffee or tea consisted of pastries and bread roll and no protein or savoury content.

Room was a bit ‘tired’ but I understand the owners are planning a revamp. Parking is not clear on arrival and a little limited at the hotel. However to be said I understand further parking is available I. Be a second car park.

Managers very helpful. Pool was large enough to have a proper swim.

No loo roll holders. Single room on west facing side was very hot (grateful for the fan the hotel provided without need to request it).

The breakfast was really good and the staff went out of their way to help. We were really grateful for the bike lock up too!

The room was very hot and especially bothering us at night. They supplied an electric fan (which our dog loved!) but the noise kept me awake at night.

As a last minute decision to stay we were very pleased with the hotel, its location close to the old town and the coastal path to let our dog out; the pool was welcomeing and refreshing; breakfast had a limited choice but the food offered was very good. The staff was very good towards all the dogs in the hotel; you could not find a more dog friendly hotel anywhere!!
