Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s a bit soulless and impersonal. The bar is brightly lit and understaffed - dirty, empty glasses left on tables. On a busy Saturday night in the centre of the city the bar should offer a cosy refuge - an alternative to a crowded pub. It didn’t do that.
It’s right opposite the Hippodrome so very convenient for everything. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast was very good. We were upgraded to the 15th floor with a huge room and amazing views. Not so great though when you get to the top to find your keycard doesn’t work!

United KingdomFor some reason, the cleaner refused to clean both our coffee cups and make up the bed properly. I also had to ask for water every day. This had no impact on our stay (we sorted everything ourselves) but found it very strange.
Great location. Reception staff were very customer focused!

United KingdomWiFi was poor and wasn't aware there was paid WiFi available. Lack of useful sockets by the bed. Very warm at times and difficult to cool. There was an intermittent noise, suspected to be associated with the lift operation so less of an issue at night. Door slams also audible. Curtains allow some light at the top and bottom.
Room was spacious, views were great. It was used as a base whilst working through the evening and was very comfortable. Good bathroom facilities and plenty of storage, space to relax and for work. Well presented space. Very comfortable bed. Typically quiet.

JerseyVery unpleasant View. When I opened the curtains, I was looking at a grey concrete wall that was the side of another building. For £160 per night (only stayed one night) I think quite pricey for no view what so ever.
Good sized room and comfy bed. Strong wifi signal and large selection of hot and cold for breakfast. Well located for the city.

United KingdomWe are local but decided to stay after attending an event. So didn't spend a long time at hotel. Good location for us to attend event and very quiet considering right in city centre. We didn't have breakfast but room nice with bonus of a fridge. The only real issue was that we in twin room and when one of the party sat on bed the caster/wheel fell off! We reported to reception and when we returned from our event to room all fixed. Polite and accomodating staff.

United KingdomThe room had a stained carpet and was very cold upon arrival because the AC had been turned off. When we ran out of shower gel, we were told to come down to reception ourselves as only one receptionist was available, adding to the inconvenience.
As I reflect on my recent stay, there were a few things that made the experience truly memorable. Firstly, our room was located on the 15th floor and in the corner, which provided us with a beautiful view. The room had a huge window ledge which, although it seemed a bit underutilized by the management, was a highlight for us. Secondly, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was difficult to leave each morning. Lastly, the bathroom was modern, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for a luxurious stay. All of these aspects combined made our time there truly enjoyable. Additionally, the cleaning staff provided exceptional service, maintaining the room to the highest standard and ensuring our stay was comfortable and hassle-free. Their attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness significantly enhanced the overall quality of our experience - thank you very much.

United KingdomThe carpark was horrendous to get to and the sat nav wouldn’t get you there. All roads were blocked by bus lanes only. I booked a king size bed and paid to upgrade room. When we got to our room it had twin beds. Wouldn’t have upgraded if I knew it was twin beds
