How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only one item and it was the check in was after the official check in time yet the delight of the room made of for it. We made our way out touring and got back when we were ready.
Room had a great view of the "hill" (forget the name). Room amenities were great and space was great especially for the 3 of us (junior Suite). Concierge (gentleman in a kilt) and Miguel at the front desk offered exceptional care and service and made our time there extremely enjoyable. Hats off to both of them. We left someone and it was returned to lost and found and we got it back which was great and unexpected! Location, location you can't beat it! You can walk to everything! Would go back again in a heartbeat!

Some noise from the bar outside, but ear plugs were provided, and there was a small step into the bathroom which claimed a toe casualty. Also the bar prices were different nearly every round although we ordered identical drinks?
Location was great, just a short walk to just about anywhere, room was spotless and the bed really comfortable. All interactions with staff were a pleasure, really helpful.

The room was cold even though it had an ac unit which I can use, it was cold all the time. On the second night there was some sort of equipment being used in the hotel which kept me awake for a good part of the night, the hotel provided ear plugs but these didn't help as there was vibration from what ever was being used. Some of the staff could have been a little nicer.
The room was spacious, the toiletries were amazing, overall a beautiful room. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice, we had dinner a couple of nights and it was really nice. Location was very good, its in the old part of Edinburgh and had a great buzz.

The carpet in my room hadn’t been vacuumed, it needed a good clean with food particles ingrained in it. For the price of the hotel room I would expect a high standard of cleanliness. I had to ask for more toilet paper and tissues. When I moved the tissue cover there was so much dust .

The breakfast is excellent, with something for everyone. The hotel is situated right in the centre of town in the thick of the action. Restaurants, bars, shops right on your door step. The staff were good-humoured, incredibly helpful and really added to our stay. Cozy, well-appointed room that was spotlessly clean.

The amount of money we pay for our room I was a little put off with the tiny shower in bath. Not a lot of water pressure or room in the shower. Otherwise everything was great.
The beds are so comfortable and the view is gorgeous! The location is great and close to everything. All tours and buses are located outside to the left or right and the breakfast was yum.

Nothing to dislike for us to be honest, would have been nice if breakfast had been included, but we just popped across the road.
Location is perfect, straight out onto the main street, room was lovely, Bed was extremely comfortable, all clean & welcoming.

They gave me a xtra add on wot was not different to wot I had an to pay £50 for wot I had already .pay £30 for parking Wich paying over £600 for 2 nights isn’t good an I was in room 256 an they put me next to a family 258 with children so not good both nights up at 7 am as child crying or shouting . As I went for a break .🙈a was over looking with a nice view an all night from the back was a buzzing .🙈🙈
All staff was all top of there game got a sett of amazing staff all polite and smiles 😎😎

The shower head was broke. So we had to hold it to shower. If we are paying well over £200 for a room for one night , we expect the facilities to be in working order. But that was the only issue.
The Rooms were spacious, the beds were super comfortable . Room well stocked with tea, coffees, water. Also the shower products were great and plenty of them,

A bit of noise from a wedding, but nothing unbearable. Food wasn't anything special and a bit pricey, but was hot and plenty of it.
Location was excellent, rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Pleasant bar area.
