Absolutely nothing at all to not like!

The warm welcome and friendliness of all of the staff. Loved the unique decor and the design of the whole place. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was really comfortable.

Maybe time for a new mattress, but only because I’m particularly fussy! The next place we stayed could not nearly match the Railway Hotel in any way so we were left wishing we’d stayed a second night!

The staff especially Mariann at reception and Mia at dinner were fantastic. We were made to feel so welcome and everything was explained. The food was fantastic in the evening and breakfast was exceptional. We still can’t get over how lovely it was.

Our stay at the hotel was outstanding. The staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful. The cottage's stylish design, filled with thoughtful details, constantly delighted us. The breakfast in the very atmospheric restaurant was tasty and well-presented. Many thanks to the hotel for making our visit super enjoyable and memorable.

Attention to detail in the bathroom, for example the remains of the shampoo/conditioner from the previous guest had been left in the shower.

The food was fantastic, in particular the fish and chips.

Small room and awkward to enter and leave bathroom. Sink in bathroom was tiny with shelf right above, so very awkward to use. Wi-fi was slow.

Very clean and well detailed room, with comfortable bed. Excellent and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Unique property, thoughtfully remodelled with great theming. The staff were exceptional from housekeeping to the manager. So welcoming and determined to ensure guests needs were met. Lovely dining experience with great food. Cooked breakfast was first class!

We couldn't find anything we didn't like.

The staff were excellent and really made you feel welcomed. The theme of the hotel was wonderful and very well done. The room was very comfortable and warm. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we will stay again in the future.

A lack of attention to some details: I was given the wrong room and although the manager apologised and gave me an evening meal “on us” she still tried to charge for £6 worth of a coke and a coffee with the free meal. I asked for the room to be serviced, leaving the sign on the door handle as the information booklet asked, but the room was left untouched and afterwards I had to ask twice for things to be replaced.

Overall, the service and especially the quality of food which was excellent in very good portions. Serving staff were very attentive. The location was ok: convenient for travelling to local places. Room had everything I needed and the bathroom was superb.

We were made to feel welcome from the minute we booked. Communication was excellent and f the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We got an upgraded room, a fabulous breakfast and very unique theming. It was a pleasure to stay there.

Unfortunately when we arrived the TV didn’t work in our room but we had an upgrade to the beautiful Bournemouth belle room however the mattress didn’t live up to it’s reputation we had an awful nights sleep with the springs digging into your back and making a god awful noise every time you turned over .

We liked the quirkiness of the hotel all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The staff at the Railway Hotel are super helpful and cannot do enough for you from Manuel the Manager, through Mia on Reception who booked us in, to Pauline our waitress at breakfast who went over and above including letting us know that it was Moussa, the Head Chef, who prepared our delicious breakfast choices. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but, as always at the Railway Hotel, the railway-themed décor was delightful and we were very comfortable.

Real old world atmosphere but with modern functionality in bathroom etc the staff were excellent and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We will be returning for a longer stay when possible.

Good breakfast choice, including good vegetarian options. Not buffet style. Location about 10 mins walk from centre of fordingbridge. Ample parking Loved the decor! Staff friendly.

The property was in a perfect location staff very friendly and helpful.. excellent food, very happy atmosphere.. Beautiful rooms we were upgraded to a two bedroom cottage as we were staying two nights.. Thank you to all the staff on duty those two days.. 😊

The attention to detail is astounding, the decor is wonderfully quirky and totally in keeping with celebrating the golden era of steam travel. The staff were very friendly and polite.
