Was very awkward to get back into the hotel at night had to ring the bell several times before the porter came

Only small issues. The main shower didn’t really work so we had to use the small shower head. The en suite door handle kept coming off. There was an outdoor floodlight which was pointed at the bedroom window and only went off at 1am. Everything else was perfect.

The breakfast was very nice, lots of variety to choose from and good quality, just wish they gave the option to have lattes/ cappuccino etc instead of just standard filter coffee.

The location to the racecourse in one direction and Edinburgh in the other, with great public transport which was explained really well by the staff. The room was very spacious and amazing shower. Breakfast was freshly made each day and nice choice with friendly staff all round. Great entertainment on Saturday night too.

Noisy people returning to their rooms - laughing and carrying on like pork chops. Very busy bar downstairs - which is also noisy.

Nicely appointed room (room 7) shower a bit small but functional.

Both mattresses not comfortable at all for us. Our room could have done with a fresh coat of paint on the walls.

Location very good for our needs. Decor very nice. Good tv and nice extras in room like coffee etc Breakfast (full Scottish) was lovely, just could do with a little more of it. 1 piece of bacon and 1 egg, no toast. Could have stayed very close by for less money with no breakfast included but there are places close where you could eat.

My only wish was that the vegetarian breakfast had vegetarian sausages on it.

A more open view would have been nice, but having a bedroom not facing the main street it was very quiet. An easy chair was needed in the room for more comfort.

A well run hotel with relaxing atmosphere, sociable & very pleasant staff only too willing to make our stay enjoyable. Clean bedroom & surroundings with a lovely fresh smell as you enter the hotel. Very good restaurant with well priced meals. Tasty cooked breakfast to start the day & served until late morning, no rush. Edinburgh is within easy access with a regular bus route running just outside the hotel. There's plenty of parking area with digital security registration.

Breakfast was nowhere as good as on our previous stay. I’ve certainly never had warm pineapple juice at breakfast before. We left it. Service was slow

Just need to check the little things - we didn’t have regular teabags and very little milk in our room. One lightbulb didn’t work. However - this didn’t take away from the lovely, well furnished and comfortable room as a whole.

The only fault we could find was the car park was closed due to a music event and we had to park 2 streets away but the bands in the carpark were quite good

TV did not work and seemingly they knew it didn't work. Noisy seagulls kept wakening me.

Breakfast was average. Overcooked bacon and sausage. No spoons for cereals. No side plate for toast. Filter coffee was topped up with hot water from the kettle instead of a fresh pot put on.
