How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

breakfast was not included in the price of my room, the continental was quite poor in the selection, the coffee wasn't great luke warm and very small cups. The shower head need a descale, made water go every direction as i mentioned to the lovely lady on checkout. As a lone traveler, didn't feel very safe as when given room key the room number was said out loud. small stuff but i am used to large chain hotels and this is not something that is done, they could do a little more for us ladies to feel a bit safer,
The room was ok, the staff were friendly.

Walls are a bit thin but if people don't talk loudly it is ok. Unfortunately for us, a lady decided that it would be the prefect time for a loud and explicit intercourse marathon throughout the night.
The place was clean and comfortable. The personal was very helpful and responsive.

No curtains - only a slatted blind which didn't keep the morning light out.
Great value for a Saturday night. Comfortable bed, good size room, great shower.

The bathroom: the detachable shower head, and the fact that I could comfortably set my things on the sink. The bedroom: it was cosy but not cramped. I did enjoy having a little desk, as well as the cookies that were given with the coffee/tea bags. The fact that a fan was there as well as an extra blanket, and so if needed I could use either.

Staff were really accomodating, I turned up early and was able to leave my car on the car park before checking in. Wifi was easy to use and the bathroom facilities were really good too

The downside is that being located on a very busy street full of bars and restaurants makes it quite noisy at night.
The hotel is ideally located in the town center, making it very convenient to get to restaurants, bars, or even the very large nearby shopping mall.

The rooms were spacious with really comfy beds.
The hotel was right in the middle of the town and was great value for money.

Wi-Fi is vey poor as is the lift. We had a superior room which was very “tired’. Carpets on the floor not great, and bathroom was not particularly clean….
The hotel manager was very efficient, and the breakfast was substantial

Our mattress was solid, i think the carpet would’ve been more comfortable honestly.
location is fab, the staff were fab, nice sized rooms. Lots of breakfast options!

Toothache. It spoiled what could have been a better experience.
Breakfast was great, pretty much all you can eat. The bar looked very inviting but I had a serious toothache and sweet drinks, hot drinks and alcohol was off the menu. Top of Town, London Road outside has some good barbers

It would have been nice to have the option of a meal at night and not go out to other places all the time but I understand the difficulties of staffing. The heating in the original room was not working but a room change fixed that so no trouble.
Friendly desk staff who asked what I was planning for the day and how my day went. As it was a visit to rediscover my roots it was emotional at times as the town has changed dramatically and not always for the better.

Strong smell of smoke in family bedroom, hotel must have been aware of this as the window was open when we arrived. Maybe keep some air fresheners in there for those situations.
Receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Very close to the town.

The reception was excellent, only negative was the bed and pillows a little uncomfortable. Breakfast was okish. We were asked if we would like fried or poached egg which I said fried it was then brought to the table whilst we were having our cereal
