Bank holiday monday night and there wasn't a good selection on the menu - many dishes were cancelled. Food we had was ok/average at best. Breakfast was very good - only had egg on toast so cant go wrong there?

Service was good - staff very polite.

Breakfast was a bit pre packaged. Muesli in a packet. Fruit platter was a bowl of whole fruit rather than prepared fruit. However, evening meal was good. Shower in the room let water out onto the floor.

    Coffee was fresh and hot.

We completed a breakfast menu to be ready at our table, it wasn't there. We didn't receive what we had ordered the previous evening.

The staff were friendly and helpful in general. The room was comfortable, good location.

Evening meal options, no vegetables and main meal I wanted was no longer available. Brought wrong order for my daughter. Experience didn't match the rest of the stay for us and was a little disappointing. But we had a lovely stay in all and enjoyed very much.

Room a little cold, cobwebs on ceiling in room, could have been a friendlier reception when we arrived in the evening.

The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. They went all out to provide the best vegan breakfast we have ever had anywhere. The staff in the morning, at breakfast time, were really friendly, helpful and accommodating and it was a lovely, cosy breakfast room. The lunch was absolutely fantastic. Again, the vegan option was delicious and so were the chips. The room was beautiful. It was huge with lovely high ceilings and a good sized, clean bathroom and nice toiletries. Lacock itself was absolutely beautiful. All in all, a great place that we would definitely recommend.

The friendliness and helpful staff. The family dinner and breakfast was excellent. Our room was a little tired and could have done with a coat of paint but it was very comfortable and clean.

There was a gorgeous open fire in the pub all day and all evening, lit again the next morning at 0900, Unfortunately our room was above the fireplace and there was a continuous smokey smell in our room for the duration of our stay. Clothing that wasn't kept in the shut wardrobe needed to be washed when we got home due to the lingering smell. The car park was very full when we arrived at 1500 as it's also used as a public car park for visitors to the village, we were lucky and found the last space though. £145 for a Saturday night, even though in the historic village of Lacock, was a bit expensive - I feel £120 would have been more realistic.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, lovely breakfast (we didn't have dinner). Spacious bedroom. Located in the heart of Lacock it's location is fab.

The food lets this lovely place down. The staff handled our complaints very well. But we had two breakfasts and a dinner and none was great.

The staff were excellent, the room wonderful with an absorbing view over the high street.

Room was tired and quite disappointing. Decor needs upgrading. I understand that this is an old property and decor needs to be in keeping, but there is no excuse for broken fabric lampshades and a tap in the bathroom that has gone green. The entire property smells of smoke (almost like smoked fish). This is quite off-putting and would prevent me from returning. The chimney's really need a good sweep.

Lovely breakfast cooked fresh and lots of choice. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Accommodation was quiet. The location is absolutely excellent, right in the heart of the village. Parking was easy and free.

No television reception in rooms on first night then only in 2 rooms remainder of stay. Early bar closure on first night made this particularly unfortunate. Long bar area combined with hard chairs and lack of attention to attractive open fire which when lit was left to go out both contributed to a lack of 'cosiness' which discouraged remaining in bar after dinner. Sister George Inn much cosier but irregular opening times left no alternative venue for dinner.

Generous supply of water, biscuits and tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities in room. Excellent breakfasts and dinners.
