No bottle of water in room. This is a pet hate of mine. Who wants to travel with bottles of water?! No usb sockets and no spare socket to charge phone. Need to move this around. The sensor lights were a nightmare. Blinding you if you went to the toilet in the night. Need the option to switch them off. Stairs up to the room a bit tricky for an older person (no handrail).

Lovely location. Nice and peaceful. Large rooms. Lovely big bathroom. Staff friendly.

Not a complaint really but some might not like the smell from hot chip fat from the kitchen below. It stung our eyes on occasions. But afterall..it is a pub!

The coffee and tea cups could do with being smaller to more easily fit under the coffee maker. A little more milk would have been nice. The room with the bunk beds was presumaby over the pub toilets so a little whiff.

Comfortable beds, very clean linen. Great view. Easy check in and out. Nice pub!

We booked on the Sunday evening of Coronation Weekend, with the additional Bank Holiday on the Monday, plus Badminton was in full swing, so the room cost was somewhat on the hefty side, but that's understandable, especially as there were only 3 of us in what could be accommodate 6 pax. The family apartment is directly above the kitchen of the Pub, so bear in mind (especially if you go with young children) there is a bit of noise from the hard-working chef until approx. 2200hrs and from 0900hrs in the morning. This is purely accommodation only NOT a B&B. The Pub can provide a breakfast box for the morning, payable in advance, should you require, but don't expect a full English in the morning.

The Rising Sun is ideally placed if visiting Badminton Horse Trails. Close enough (approx. 40mins from the site) to make it a straight forward drive after the day's event, but close enough to the M4 for easy access for your onward journey. The Pub offers great views from their garden, the restaurant offers a locally sourced produce for their menu, plus you have a choice a choice of inside dining or an outside bar menu. Both are good value, offering vegetarian and vegan options, with good-sized portions. The quality of the food served was excellent. There's ample car-parking and the family apartment is large - there were only 3 of us, but it will run to 6pax - 1 x double bedded room / 1 x bunk-room / 1 x double sofa in the lounge area and a BIG bathroom. Tea & coffee facilities are available (a rather nice SMEG coffee machine) but bear in mind there are no further self-catering facilities. As an extra treat, as it was the Sunday of the Coronation Weekend, there was live music - a free gig by 'The Bad Dad's Club'. Can't say fairer than that!

I was on the sofabed which was fine for 1 night but I would have struggled if we were there for a longer stay.

Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Really great to find accommodation which works for a multi-generation family.

There was no option for breakfast until 10.30am and the accommodation was not self catering so you had to drive into the nearest town to get something to eat.

The hotel was in a lovely location with beautiful views over the Lacock area. There was a restaurant onsite that served a great dinner. A great beer garden where you could enjoy a drink and the view.

Only tiny things that would help improve would be that a small side table would be nice in living room. Also, some room info, e.g. on what to do with used mugs etc, obviously I assume they would take them and wash them if asked but i didnt want to assume that and come across rude.

I liked that we had the 2 rooms and a working smart TV with Internet, pub was lovely and has a remarkable view in beer garden. Room was very pleasent, simple and clean. Prices were as expected and we would defiantly stay again.

We were also staying with my brother and his wife who slept on the sofa bed. Unfortunately they had awful night's sleep as the sofa bed was quite uncomfortable. The bedding was lovely but the bed could have done with an extra mattress base for anyone planning to use it.

The location and view was fabulous. Check-in was extremely easy and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and the two bedrooms were very comfortable, with nice bedding. The flat made for a great stay with the kids who particularly loved the bunk beds! Plus there is a great little playground on site so the kids can play whilst you relax and soak up the view.

Breakfast wasn't offered (or wasn't available?) but we paid less elsewhere on the nights either side where breakfast was included.

The pub is set on a hill (which is a bit of an effort to cycle up!), which means it affords amazing views across the valley. The accommodation is a self-contained flat, which was good. The staff were helpful when it came to securely storing our bikes overnight. Good food and beers.

We stayed here for three nights. The flat was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The staff were brilliantly helpful and friendly. Food was great: well prepared pub food of high quality. A special mention for Neil, who went out of his way to make sure we had all we needed, and to Toast the dog, who is a legend.

The price of the accommodation seemed high for what we received. The property is on a surprisingly busy and noisy road. There was fast traffic throughout the night. The TV reception was terrible although the wi-fi was good. The tea and coffee facilities were adequate although there was no bottled water or even drinking glasses. There were no hand towels in the bathroom and the shower was no easy to regulate. As the bathroom was down the hall a light sensor activated a safety light. All well and good but it did tend to wake one's partner in the night. Food and drink were fine if a little expensive.

This accommodation consisted of two bedrooms, a lounge and bathroom although we only used one bedroom. The bedroom was of a good size and the lounge was fine if there were only two of you. The bathroom was large but inevitably not connected to the bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant and garden were spacious and the owners have obviously put a lot of thought and money into post Covid safety. There is good parking and fine views from the garden.

Booked accommodation here as it was advertised as a THREE bedroom apartment. However, on arrival, we found that it was TWO bedrooms, and a convertible settee in the lounge (which I would add was quite uncomfortable to sleep on!) Breakfast were charged at £15.00 per head - rather expensive for a pub! For our party of 5, that worked out at £75.00!

    Beautiful location. Very friendly staff.

How the staff were treated by the owner. The flat we stayed in very cold, lights with sensor coming on all night, TV signal unwatchable. Food good but very expensive. Hot water was pot luck for a shower or shave etc.
