How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

If you have a room next to the road it can be really noisy! The walls are quite thin too and my room was next to the front door so I could hear a lot of people coming in and out. They do provide great earplugs though which helped me sleep much better.
Very convenient hotel for short stays! Incredible location being right next to the train station & river. Really comfy bed & good facilities with a shared kitchen provided too.

I was disappointED was that you no longer do a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. Previousl;y I have been able to have a substantial continental breakfast. On the first morning I went to the Premier Inn as instructed for a continental breakfast and the second morning I again walked to the Premier Inn for breakfast but the queue was very long and they were taking ages to deal with the residents that I left without any breakfast and stopped on route to have something.
The location is great as I was able to take a morning and e`vening stroll by the river and it was close to many shops. My room was a little small but everything was there and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

We had a room at the front and it was noisy at night with cars on main road and late night revellers returning but free ear plugs were provided. Hotel maybe needs some updating including double glazing to reduce the noise! And the duvet wasn’t very thick I did wake up cold in the night.
Reasonably priced, permit parking was cheaper than a car park, room was ok size with en suite and tea/coffee making facilities. Staff were friendly.

I prefer the beds and bed linen in Holiday Inn but you pay much more for that. I think it's a bit much that people rip the place apart, for the price it's more than adequate.
Ive read some of the other reviews and I'm not sure what people are expecting at this price range!! We were shown to our accomodation by a friendly chap and also where to park the car conveniently outside. The room was large with everything you might need for a nights stay - towels, complimentary tea etc. TV, sitting area. Plenty of loo roll and hot water.

Staff friendly and helpful. House in Aspland Road not affected by noisy Riverside Road. Parking permit for street worked well. Pleasant walk along river side to cathedral and city centre.

We were placed near the main door as someone before us didn’t return their keys so our room got changed, we were woken every time someone came in or out of the property (being Norwich it was every 20 minutes) and were awoken at 9am by another guest screaming down the phone having an argument, felt like we were in a hostel for a few minutes. We didn’t feel the need to mention it to the hosts as there wouldn’t have been anything they could have done as it was another guests behaviour that put a damper on our stay not the Hotel itself.
Room is spacious and warm, bed was comfy and big. We had a TV that worked, the curtains blacked out the room a lot. The shower was lovely too. Hosts were lovely and you just get left too it which is nice when you’re just having a day out and need somewhere to come back to relax after. Location is great as it’s not far to walk anywhere.

How close the rooms are together o could hear next doors phone ring Tv is very very small. If I had poor eye sight I wouldn’t have been able to see it. Pillows weren’t that comfortable but okay
It was in a lovely quiet location, on entry it was clean and tidy. They’re was towels and toiletries laid out for both guests and a kettle with tea and coffee facilities
