The generator they used to power the electrical equipment was very noisy — it buzzed constantly, and when we asked we were told it stays on all night because of the floodlights in the car park. If you are a light sleeper, this will keep you awake!

The yurt was comfortable with all amenities, including electricity. Showers were just a short walk away, and the town of Hay was 15 minutes’ walk. There was a Co-Op over the road.

Too far to walk to the festival Showers not as clean as I expected No trolleys to help transport belongings from car park to Yurt

Bed very comfortable but glad we took an extra duvet Our super yurt was spacious with a lockable door which we appreciated. Definitely worth paying a little bit more as cheaper yurts looked very small

Yurt would have been too small for people. Parking was a bit pricey at £8 a day- more expensive than the festival parking. Quite a long walk to the festival (but we already knew that)

Good beds but and only four of us in a 6 man yurt so we had had space. Not a big site so quiet. Good facilities.

    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Mini Yurt
    • Stayed 4 nights

The parking was expensive at £8 a day, especially as it was so far from the festival site where parking was only £4.

The location was further from the festival site than I realised it would be, half an hour walk. If you had been unable to walk this distance then it would have meant moving the car and paying again for parking.

There was hair in showers. It got cold at night but you are in a tent so to be expected.

The camp site was opposite co op and 10 minutes walk to the main streets of Hay. It was also 25 minutes from festival on foot or 10 mins by car. Brilliant check in staff. Reasonable parking charge. Beautiful setting. Close to river walks.

Nothing, really, perhaps more information provided in advance about what the facilities were like and it would have been nice to have a small café on site.

It was very quiet secluded area of the town and very secure with night guards checking that you had a right to be there. Facilities were amazing with nice shared showers and toilets, all of which were very clean and worked perfectly except perhaps for slightly dim lights late at night.

Signposting to the site wasn’t the best (especially when arriving later and solo) It is further away from the main festival site than you think! The antisocial behaviour of another camper was loudly aggressive on both mornings which was intimidating. Not the company’s fault but I would not recommend for solo female travellers.

Good facilities, comfortable stay, friendly staff

The car parking was very pricey. I’d already paid when I realised how much cheaper it was to park in town (less than half price!).

Lovely yurt, clean loos and showers with warm water. Staff very friendly and amenable to phone charging, using a kettle etc which was really nice.

Not their fault but it was a bit of a walk up hill to the town then through it to get to the Hay Festival site. It made "popping back" for things difficult. I was travelling without a car though and that made things slightly trickier.

Comfortable yurts, warm if you have the blankets and are dressed for the weather. Staff were super friendly and charge phones and provide hot water for tea. The showers are spacious (though a hook on the back of the door would be appreciated) and the toilets were clean. It was really quiet there too. The Co-op across the road was great for cheap lunches so you don't have to queue or pay the high prices in the festival.

Great to have a basic communal kitchen, just for hot drinks and a quick ping in a microwave, but not really much to add.

Good position, just out of town and with a supermarket just opposite. V clean sheets, toilets and shower. Yurt was cosy. With festival accommodation bring super expensive this was a great deal for a quick stopover.

The yurt was comfortable, clean and well presented with an electric power supply. Toilets and showers were of a good standard and kept clean on a regular basis. Ample parking was available near to the yurt field. The site was in a rural setting, with far reaching views. We stayed for 5 nights during the Hay literary festival and the walk to and from the festival site was fine. A supermarket opposite was handy. The site wasn't busy while we were there and it was peaceful.
