Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe found this to be a lovely set up and there clearly has been a lot of thought by the owners on what would make it a pleasant stay for guests. Warm, friendly and helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThe site is a long way from the Hay Book Festival site, so be warned there is a 30 min (ish) walk to get there. We didn't mind it, but it could be a long way for people with limited mobility. The site is also getteing quite muddy so bring wellies, especially if it rains.
Nice yurts, we stayed in a luxury model and it had a power socket with electic lights. The bed was firm, but comfortable. There were a couple of seats and tables, but that was about it. The showers and toilets were good quality (for festival amenities).

United KingdomThe loos were not kept as clean as last time we stayed here. There were also some families that were a bit disrespectful and up chatting and laughing etc very loudly before 6am which was a shame but not the campsites fault.
Great location, lovely yurts, good facilities for a campsite and great friendly and helpful staff

United KingdomThe generator they used to power the electrical equipment was very noisy — it buzzed constantly, and when we asked we were told it stays on all night because of the floodlights in the car park. If you are a light sleeper, this will keep you awake!
The yurt was comfortable with all amenities, including electricity. Showers were just a short walk away, and the town of Hay was 15 minutes’ walk. There was a Co-Op over the road.

United KingdomToo far to walk to the festival Showers not as clean as I expected No trolleys to help transport belongings from car park to Yurt
Bed very comfortable but glad we took an extra duvet Our super yurt was spacious with a lockable door which we appreciated. Definitely worth paying a little bit more as cheaper yurts looked very small

United KingdomYurt would have been too small for people. Parking was a bit pricey at £8 a day- more expensive than the festival parking. Quite a long walk to the festival (but we already knew that)
Good beds but and only four of us in a 6 man yurt so we had had space. Not a big site so quiet. Good facilities.

United KingdomThe parking was expensive at £8 a day, especially as it was so far from the festival site where parking was only £4.
The location was further from the festival site than I realised it would be, half an hour walk. If you had been unable to walk this distance then it would have meant moving the car and paying again for parking.

United KingdomThere was hair in showers. It got cold at night but you are in a tent so to be expected.
The camp site was opposite co op and 10 minutes walk to the main streets of Hay. It was also 25 minutes from festival on foot or 10 mins by car. Brilliant check in staff. Reasonable parking charge. Beautiful setting. Close to river walks.

United KingdomNothing, really, perhaps more information provided in advance about what the facilities were like and it would have been nice to have a small café on site.
It was very quiet secluded area of the town and very secure with night guards checking that you had a right to be there. Facilities were amazing with nice shared showers and toilets, all of which were very clean and worked perfectly except perhaps for slightly dim lights late at night.
