How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Can not fault a thing.
Homely friendly hotel. The standard of the hotel rooms were excellent and very clean. Brilliant for family breaks or couples. Andy and Bernie were so friendly, accommodating and helped keep the kids entertained. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to your liking, with various options available and nothing was too much for them. The hotel itself is very central and walking distance of all the local attractions and shopping.

We loved everything

There is nothing I didn't like
This was my second visit to rockdene and it definitely won't be my last. Bernie and Andy are two of the nicest people ive ever met,from the minute we arrived they made us feel so welcome .I had booked a family room and it was spotless The hotel is situated central to pleasure beach and the tower. Breakfast was delicious. All in all there is nothing bad I can say about Rockdene. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Bernie and Andy are just natural hosts. See you again soon

We didn’t like nothing.
Excellent hotel! From start to finish we really felt at home and they couldn’t do enough for us :) we will be staying here everytime we visit Blackpool from now on :)

Hard to find anything negative
Wonderful hosts very friendly and knowledgeable always had a smile on their faces . The breakfast was delicious lots of choice .Great in house bar well stocked with beers and spirits if you fancy a night cap .

It’s clean, cosy and inviting. Owners are wonderful, helpful when needed but not overbearing. The room had everything we would need. The beds are comfortable and we all slept like logs. Breakfast was perfectly cooked & delicious. The B & B’s location on St Chads is perfect, it’s halfway between the pleasure beach & Blackpool Tower. There’s a tram stop at the end of the road if needed.

Bernie and Andy were very welcoming hosts and went above and beyond, brilliant local tourist knowledge, even setting up a travel cot for us and saving us a parking space. Room was as described, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast and options available were impressive and the hosts made us feel at home during the whole stay. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Not a lot
Bernie and Andy were friendly, lovely people and informative. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and plenty of choice for the little ones. Room was quiet and kept clean. Parking is limited to the road so spaces can be fully taken but there is a small car park nearby.

Having to leave to go home x
Everything.it was our first time of staying here but Andy & Bernie made us feel like part of the family nothing was to much trouble rooms were so clean,,comfortable ,warm & so quiet xx Breakfast & other meals were outstanding xx Our Daughtee turned 11 on our last day we came down to Breakfast to it all decorated with banners & balloons along with card & present made her day such a amazing couple kind thoughtful & caring xx can't wait to stay again ❤

We couldn't of asked for a better weekend away. Hotel was amazing, Andy and his wife couldn't do more. The hotel was spotless and breakfast so tasty 😋. Nothing was too much bother for the couple they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and advising places to go. We will definitely be back.

Loved our stay at rockdene . We were made to feel so welcome from Andy and Bernie.Our family room had everything we needed and was spotless. Breakfast was lovely.
