Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe parking was a long way from the B&B The photos need up dating as the picture of the outside area is not accurate.
Michael and his staff were very pleasant and friendly, the room was clean and adequate. We were allowed to have our dog with us. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The location was great, right by the beach.

United KingdomLovely place right next to the beach and facilities. Quick bus into town or very reasonable friendly taxi - info given by the owner. Absolutely lovely. Brilliant food at the Godolphin Inn opposite. Striking views of Marazion beach and at Michael's mount whilst I ate and drank. Will be staying again but will bring my pooch Hettie - small well behaved Border Terrier with me next time x

United KingdomBeing Cornwall it is the norm for prices to be high but the pub prices of food as well as drinks are excessive, nice to know a wetherspoons is a 10 minutes bus ride away
Mick was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, From our bedroom window we had the view of St Michael's Mount (bonus)! The breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice catering for all needs, A regular bus service goes to Penzance with the stops virtually outside the door

Abkhazia, GeorgiaTwo problems. The room was very small, the shower microscopic. Obviously there is not much one can do about these. Second: the Mattress had a section with broken springs . This should be replaced, indeed it should have been replaced before we slept in it.
Breakfast was well cooked and generous. The staff were kind and obliging. Location was wonderful.

United KingdomNoisy scaffolding going up next door during our stay. No milk to make a cuppa. Some of the room fittings a bit tired.
No available parking nearby but were able to park in the long stay car park up the road for 24hrs (£12.00) Able to come back late with front door key. They run a good little cafe next door too. Nice host.

CanadaThe entrance was a bit hard to find.
You could not beat this location. The view from my window looked right out at St. Michaels Mount. It was stunning. The little town surrounding the property was great too with a lovely neighbourhood pub. Regrettable I only stayed one night and came later in the day and had to leave before breakfast was served. The host was very kind and accommodating. I will definitely be back for a proper stay next time!

GermanyWell, it's hard to put a finger on, but let's put it this way: Of all our accomodations on a 7-day trip this one was by far the most expensive and least likeable one (and with the strictest advance payment rules). You just know when you're just an item to a business run efficiently, but rather as a daily chore. It starts by finding the entrance, which photos suggest is somewhere different, but could only be made out with the help of a passer-by. Then there's smaller things such as not- or hardly-working lamps, one heating that wouldn't warm up, a suggestion for dinner that turned out to be the most expensive in town, a trick with opening the windows one would hope to get pointed out (not being British), really thin floors/ceilings that make you hear either the dog walking above or the kitchen radio below in the morning, ending in breakfast for three on two separate tables on two mornings in a row, while these tables could have easily been moved together. There were refurbishments going on and it is to be expected that the place will look and be more welcoming in the near future, but as it is, one would expect a word of explanation when entering a house through a little working site. It would definitely help with slightly bewildered customers, and would proof that someones cares. As it was, we felt just like the never-returning guests who one needen't to bother about. Sorry, needed to be said. In general, I thought it's way too expensive for what's offered.
I booked the B&B in search for a nice place to stay over Easter with my elderly parents and admittedly mostly based on the view. Which was as shown on the photographs, which were, I must admit, a bit confusing about how the house really looks like and what belongs to it. Because of the date and the course of our travels, we didn't have many other choices and also had to take two nights. The rooms had been slightly modernised, I think, as compared to the pictures. There was carpet instead of wooden floor, and the rooms were bright and provided all necessary things. Our host especially was rather helpful with our questions and also very friendly.
