It could have been sunnier and hotter, but can't mark you down for that! Haha!

I stayed here with my 7 year old daughter for four nights. The cottage was lovely and homely, so much nicer than a sterile hotel room. There were complimentary snacks, a folder full of useful information for our stay, both in and out of the house. TVs and internet worked fine, not that we used much of them, we were pretty busy! Loved getting home in the evening and playing some of the provided board games before my daughter went to bed. Lovely little garden outside and my daughter enjoyed feeding the birds. I didn't encounter any issues during my stay. Jen, the owner, was easy to get in touch with though, and friendly. As for Cumbrae in general, we kept busy with an inland walk to the highest point, we rented bikes and cycled around the island, we went to the amusement arcade, played at the beach, made use of the trampolines, crazy golf etc, saw the World's Narrowest House and the UK's smallest cathedral, and did some geocaching, went to the play park. Didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to. I didn't do much cooking, I found eating out to be about the same price as shopping and fewer dishes to do, shopping does tend to be expensive on islands. PS: please note, the property photos are from when we were leaving, it was tidier on arrival!

    Everything was perfect for us.

Warm, comfortable, a short stroll of 2 minutes to main seafront shops, restaurants and bars. Quiet location with street parking. Good wifi, comfortable bed, shower and everything you need for a stay on the island. Loved the garden birds....take your own seed or buy from the Premier store £1.99 large bag. Lots of extras in the flat.....shampoos, creams, lotions and cleaning products. Tea, coffee too to get your holiday under way. Loved the welcome hamper with jam, honey, cereal and biscuits. Great stay.

    All good for us!

The Cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything for our long weekend trip. The location was central and quiet. We slept well on the very comfy bed. Great communications with the host from booking to our arrival and departure. The flat was ready early for us to arrive. We were told we could check out later in the morning. We really appreciated this. Thank you so much.

A significant amount of noise from upstairs tenant. could hear every footstep, toilet flush, phone conversation, tv and music etc. kitchen cupboards very high and impossible to reach if slightly below average height. no suitably safe step provided to access glassware and crockery. Glassware and mugs all a bit mismatched and felt like we’re collected from charity shops rather than having a matching set. no storage space for own food supplies and hardly any draw storage for own cloths in bedroom. all draws filled with owners spare bedding and cleaning products.

    enclosed garden for dog.
