Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLack of breakfast (I should have been made aware of that), no remote control, second tv not working and not even attached, creaking floor and ultra-thin walls. Unpleasant stay. A bad feeling from the very beginning when we were told, in no uncertain terms, that we CAN NOT PARK THERE, in the area I have parked on my two previous stays to Rosemount Palace. As it turned out, this was wrong and there was no problem with leaving the car there, though the ground was utterly strewn with rubbish and very unpleasant to view out of the window. Paper-thin walls meant hearing not only our neighbour's delightful bathroom antics, but being awoken by him on the phone at 4am. The unpleasant stains on the carpet, splatter marks on the bathroom walls, bizarre bath and shower hot water switching itself off after 30 seconds, rubbish strewn outside, dirty shower window, lack of understanding from the staff. My wife left after the first night, very unimpressed. I was told members of staff tried to knock on my door and phone the room - all while I was in the room - and there honestly was no contact. Before leaving, it turned out to be my responsibility to tell them what the problems were with the room. I can't believe I paid over £300 for the privilege of letting them know about their own very obvious issues, that they should have worked out for themselves before inviting anyone to stay. Cuts, marks, scars on the walls, dirt on the shower window, impossible to have a bath due to the odd water system which was occasional and very noisy. I really do wish the owners and staff all the best wishes, but advise anyone looking for a short break in beautiful Aberdeen to DEFINITELY NOT STAY HERE. Thanks. I have been in touch with the Rosemount Palace regarding thier response to my review. Each and every one of their points is incorrect... It's hard to imagine a more-fabricated response. I would NOT have written my review were it not accurate.
Being in Aberdeen - it's a great city. The Rosemount Palace was a disaster. Not only are all the points below, in the 'what didn't you like' section accurate and entirely true, every single one of the points in their response is innacurate. They are now refusing to discuss this further and don't seem to be concerned by my repeated point that I have proof of every section in my review. Rosemount Palace - if you continue to ignore my requests for your response to be removed, and an apology isn't given to myself for clear defamation of character, I shall begin proceedings through which each and every one of my points, and yours, will be picked through and evaluated by a third party. It is not a threat, but when the proof is aired, I will be due recompense. Please act on this immediately. Thank you.

United KingdomThe room was not worth the price at all. Cold air coming in through the windows. They mixed water with the shampoo, and shower gel, in the shampoo bottles. Not a clear entrance of how to enter the building.

Breakfast not even jam avilable. Nothing luxury about the place, rather old, tired, worn, run down. Outside liter everywhere on the ground.

United KingdomBooked and paid for a standard room. On arrival I was told that the room was not available and I would have to pay £40 more to stay in a "Suite" as this was all that was available. After arguing that my room had been paid for and confirmed by booking.com the staff member insisted that the only room available was a suite and I would have to pay more. I felt that the staff member was trying to manipulate me into parting with more money for something I had already paid for. I refused and was about to leave when he relented and allowed me to stay for the original price. I then waited almost an hour for him to "prepare the room"??? (He'd told me it was available.) As I was waiting, another couple of guests stated that they had also been waiting for their room for a ridiculous amount of time. Eventually, I was shown to my room and was greeted with a tired looking but clean room. The bed was extremely low but was comfortable to sleep on. Otherwise an unremarkable room. The time wasted arguing and waiting made me late for a dinner arrangement with friends and completely ruined my evening as I was in such a bad mood.
The room had a bed. The bathroom had a shower and a toilet. The door locked.

United KingdomThe rooms were nothing like the advertised photos and the name is a total farce! The place has a aura of decay and neglect- very much a 3rd world run establishment and more like a homeless hostel! A double room for £55 was a complete rip off, especially as we could have stayed in a Premier Inn for less with a far bigger, cleaner and more comfortable room with decent levels of lighting. False advertising secured this deal but we know better if there’s a next time! Staff were disinterested and aloof, eating their food with their fingers at reception- very unprofessional! Their disdain was apparent until we found a red stain on the bottom sheet of our bed and then there were apologies and the attitude changed, although we had the distinct impression that they thought we were responsible for the stain!😳 If this is a Christian run enterprise, it’s a poor testimony.
Nothing! Would never go there again and would never recommend it to anyone. A rip off!

United KingdomThe set up of the building was a bit strange (I think at least at one point it was like the living quarters for the attached house of worship?), but only in a way that caught me off guard, nothing serious. That’s just a heads up for people. My only tangible complaint is that I wish that there was a chain lock for the door — as a woman I would have felt much more secure in a place that I was having trouble gauging.
The room was very clean and smelled so nice. Furthermore, the woman at the front desk was lovely.
