How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Martin was very welcoming, helpful and informative. We really enjoyed his and Charles' company. Also breakfast was amazing. The room was a nice size with yummy treats and very comfortable bed. The remodeled bathroom was spacious. We would definitely stay there again.

Disclaimer: this review might sound too good to be true but it’s written wholeheartedly & 100% deserved. I’ve stayed in a lot of really great places before and traveled quite a bit but the Roskhill House has easily made it to my number one place to stay. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home, you’re welcomed with a warm smile and a wonderful scent throughout the whole place. Everywhere you look, you see the love that is being put into every little detail. It’s spotless clean, the beds and duvets are super comfortable, the interior design is modern yet cozy, the breakfast is unmatched with a variety of vegetarian deliciousness - long story short: it was perfect. Thank you again for going out of your way and making this place a home away from home. We could not stop comparing every other accommodation for the rest of our trip with this experience and were always looking back onto this time with a melancholic smile. I can't fault anything, just wish we'd stayed longer
We had a perfect stay, Martin & Charles are fantastic hosts - they made amazing breakfasts with home baked cakes, great recommendations for places to visit, super comfy beds too ! We left feeling very relaxed :D

We absolutely loved Roskhill house. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms comfortable and the welcome very warm! We are planning to return next year!

Comfortable and cosy large rooms. Incredible homemade breakfast and delicious coffee. A lot of thought has gone into all of the details and commitment to sustainability of the place and the owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. Will definitely be back!

Everything was perfect.
Great welcome and host, Martin, was excellent. Room was clean and very comfortable. Fantastic location and a delicious breakfast. Will definitely stay at Roskhill House again when back on the beautiful island of Skye.

Where to begin... It was the best place to stay on our whole trip. Our host was super friendly and helpful. His breakfasts were over the top fantastic. It probably sounds like I'm gushing,but honestly everything was so perfect here. Our room, the food, our host, everything. Y ou absolutely can't go wrong staying here

Extremely comfortable bed in a quiet rural area. Includes a comfortable snug area which is nice to relax in after a full day exploring the Isle of Skye. The breakfast is also brilliant with an extensive selection of quality local dishes. The host Martin is also brilliant keen to provide recommendations as required to ensure you make the most of your time. I would definitely book here again next time we are on the Isle of Skye.

I could think of no improvement.
I was so impressed with the hosts at this guesthouse. Their attention to every detail of the room and menu was fantastic. They have really gone above and beyond on local/sustainable/vegetarian concepts and everything was done with such caring. It is the best hotel/guesthouse we stayed at in our one month journey. The bed was actually a king size, and the room spacious, which we found hard to come by in our journey.

This stay was impeccable.
This stay was absolutely incredible. I don’t even have the words to capture the quality of service and hospitality I received not just from the hosts, but in every aspect of this place. Roskhill house hosts have beautifully decorated every inch of the house, immaculately and quality is felt in every part of it! The breakfast is inclusive of a buffet, I believe all was hand made by either hosts or local, and there is also a menu to order your breakfast off when you arrive in the tea room. 3 weeks of touring Scotland and this place is not only the best stay, but I cannot fault it. It deserves an award.

I did not like it that I had booked another location for the last 2 days - we stayed here for 4 nights and should have stayed here for entire week in Skye.
The breakfast was gourmet with different options each day. Freshly prepared it was also the time during which our hosts spent time including the guests in group discussions as well as one on one sharing tips on everything from unknown car paths to little known eateries.
