Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was very comfortable with large fluffy towels. It was spacious, had a smart TV and a beautiful view over the garden. The breakfast was very good - cooked breakfast as well as cereals, fruit etc. We ate dinner in Oscars restaurant there which was excellent - beautifully cooked and well presented. It’s in a beautiful location and would definitely recommend Rossett Hall.

United KingdomUnfortunately for us, it was very busy on the night of our stay, with a wedding party and other somewhat noisy guests in abundance. The bedroom door locks tend to slam shut hard. Some noisy loud guests going to their rooms late into the evening and well after midnight kept us awake for much of the night. A pity, because in every other respect this is a beautiliful, well run, Hotel, and we absolutely love it.
It was a very busy day, and not everything was available on the continental side, however the cooked breakfast was outstanding in my view.

United KingdomQuite a quirky layout on the ground floor, making it tricky to navigate from bedroom to bar/restaurant and the car parks. Better signage and a floor plan would have helped. The staff were friendly and effective but some were a bit overstretched and inexperienced. Not their fault, but this accounts for my score of 9 for them. Everything else 10.
Very stately in appearance, clean and well maintained. Large and comfortable rooms and beds. Nice rural setting. This was also the venue for a post-funeral sit-down lunch for 29 covers, which was superbly and very sensitively done- thank you!

United KingdomIn the restaurant at breakfast they ran out of fresh fruit and pastries on the first day. On the Sunday the only prepared fresh fruit on offer was small pieces of water melon. A fresh fruit salad would have been welcome. The black pudding was underdone on the first morning and on the next morning the mushrooms and black pudding were tough. No one seemed to be overseeing the running of the breakfast service so items were not topped up.
You had good parking, it was in a quiet location and the rooms were comfortable.

United KingdomDinner was OK but, though the staff were friendly and helpful, service was a little slow. A couple of things on the menu were unavailable - strange for a place that is a big wedding venue (or perhaps that's why). We would stay here again, though.
Very pleasant room, gardens and view. Very comfortable stay. Good price and good location as a stop-off while heading further into Wales. Plenty of car parking. Breakfast was excellent: it was a buffet but this was a rare surprise - the hot food was just that - hot and refreshed frequently.

United KingdomDidn’t think there was as much choice as there could have been at breakfast -no cold meat or cheese at breakfast. Would also have expected natural yogurt and a mix of chopped fresh fruit to go with it. There were no croissants or pastries. We hadn’t gone down to breakfast until 9.30 but I would expect the same items to be available then as earlier.
Excellent dinner. Good choice and well cooked and presented. Excellent cooked items at breakfast.

United KingdomWhen we arrived at breakfast there were no croissants or fruit but we mentioned it and it was soon topped up. The choice of cooked food was great and very hot.
My room overlooked the garden and it was lovely. The hotel was very welcoming with nice siting areas and sofas. My bed was huge and comfy and the bedroom nicely furnished and cosy. The corridors were very well decorated, nicely carpeted and lots of local photographs. Lots of car parking space and buses stop outside to Chester and Wrexham. Rosset is a lovely quiet village with nice pubs etc but so convenient for everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
