The room was dirty, there was dust everywhere, a dirty pint glass from the guests before, drip marks down table leg in the room and empty shower gel packet in the shower. We also couldn't close the bathroom window so it was very cold. There was also a crack in the glass bedside lamp which my partner cut his hand on.

The staff and the customer service was really great. A warm welcome when ever we entered the reception area and very accommodating to breakfast requests.

My bed sheets were not brand new had hole s and Mark's, never got changed, or did the tea and coffee packs got filled up,walls and the shower room need differently repairing and painting, my wardrobe was not big or long ,had a coffee machine inside , sockes were on the floor to boil the kettle, room was very small , glass shelve nearly fell off ,food chicken burger was over cooked ,I did not have breakfast for two morning, never got my money back,not a lot of selection of beers or wines ,some off the staff were slow getting served

It was too hot ,had to sleep all night with window open , and the shower head didn’t work properly

The heating system was loud and at times seemed to be shaking the building. The decoration needed some updating and the close coupled toilet was too low to flush anything away.

The bar was friendly enough and the food served was tasty. There is a large car park which was a big plus although I nearly missed the entrance on the one way street it is in.

The Royal needs to work out whether it wants to be a hotel or a nightclub. On the first night of our stay the music from the bar was excessive, the bathroom floor was vibrating to the bass from the music.

Great character of the hotel, staff were friendly and the room was huge.

Cheap and cheerful stay. A few minor issues such as flat pillows and bed sheets not fitting the mattress. Can be overlooked by the super friendly staff, location, parking and price!

Was positioned on the main road and it was very noisy. The bathroom door had no lock or even handle to close fully. The shower door didn’t close it was hanging off. There was no hot water either. There was no hairdryer in the room.

Room was spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed. Nice rejection area and lobby. The staff on check in and check out were very friendly and welcoming.

It was advertised that breakfast was included and I could have got the room cheaper elsewhere but booked due to it having breakfast included however it was only continental. Cooked breakfast you had to pay extra. Really disappointing

do not use Fire extinguisher as a door stop two days running this happened was put in a room with no access to an open window big ass fan was iin the room from a jet engine poor breakfast fire door open all night no security checks

It was a very hot day, i know we cant help the weather but the window was faulty, I thought ide cool down with a nice shower but the plug hole was blocked and water wouldn't go down, the staff gave me a fan wich helped a lot but after a day of walking around in the sun all you want is a shower and a bit of air in the room

Original room didn't look anything like the room I booked....I queried this and was told the room in the photos is a delux room not a standard....not really my problem but did request the room I booked, wasn't even a shower in original room....was changed to the booked room. 👍 Even though it's advertised with breakfast....don't expect full cooked breakfast unless your paying £7.95 extra.....bloody annoys me this, booking.com needs to make this clear if it's toast n coffee or full breakfast

There was a lack of information regarding parking, we hadn't been given notification of where to park the car as there were several pay and display car parks in the area. Apparently the car park was behind the hotel and you register your car on check in, but this wasn't stated beforehand, and there were no signs outside indicating which car park belonged to the hotel.

The location was spot on as we had a train to carry on our journey.
