Bed was awful. The room is on a slope so the bed tilted to the left and the head tilted lower, I constantly felt like I was falling out the bed

No hot water, shower sliding door wasn't attached and shower didn't drain properly. Paid for a superior double bed, which still turned out to be two singles or twins pushed together which separated as we slept. Would have said something as we checked out but was on a tight time schedule.

I booked expecting a cooked breakfast as per shown on your website what transpired was a cup of coffee, cereal and toast. Being an old hotel I expect wear and tear but the floor sloping so much made the bed slope and the feeling you were falling out which made for very little sleep. The small room with it's anaglypta wall paper has not seen a coat of paint for a very long time, did not have a wardrobe again as stated on your website as available. I had to hang my shirts on door handles as there wasn't even a coat hook on the back of the door. All for the ripoff price of £69.00 per night.

No shower, just a bath. No TV until found aerial unplugged. Both taps seemed to have lukewarm water. Continental Breakfast was one small croissant and cereals, and even the Coco pops unavailable day 2. Stained sheets. Filthy windows, rotten wooden frames. Generally very old and shabby, unmaintained feel to the place. Could only turn off room light from entrance. Massively overpriced for what you get.

Everything else!…..worst thing was working all night….coming back to the hotel for breakfast before going to bed to be told restaurant closed!….no prior notice and bearing in mind this is our evening meal!…poor poor service….the staff deserve better as they take the complaints!!!!!!!

Room was disgusting, dirty, dirty bedding, no heating and no hot water, dirty tea cup from last customer, staff are un helpful,breakfast was a joke aswell, paid for a room with breakfast only to be told it was continental which included sour milk and stale bread, i was booked for a Friday and Saturday night, i came home on the Saturday as nothing had been done regarding heating and hot water and apparently this is one of their best single rooms,the room was nothing like it was portayed on the hotel website, I've been mis sold and mislead,basically ripped off I'm disgusted how this kind of establishment still exists in this day and age. I've requested a full refund but I'm being lied to and given the run around. I've been offered a complimentary room and breakfast, why would I want to stay there again when i travelled 200 miles for a social trip.

The photos on the website for the hotel are a complete lie. The fact that the hotel has 2 restaurants is a complete lie. Our room was disgusting, behind the beds hadn't been hoovered, cheap furniture (beds did not fit in alcoves) and cheap uncomfortable beds and pillows. The tea tray had a few teabags, covered in dust, thrown onto a tray, the bathroom was dirty and had a sliding bathroom door that didn't fit, fire door with huge gap at the top and broken window that did not lock properly. The receptionist lied to us saying first that there was not a restaurant in the hotel, when I said it was on the website he changed his story to its under reconstruction, we had to get takeaway food. When we went to breakfast in the morning, there was water leaking into the dining room / bar and one tiny table with some boxes of cereal on them and a few shop bought pastries. This hotel is no better than a doss house. I would have left except I had 2 kids with me and couldn't find another hotel that was close.

The room was small but very well presented. Excellent bathroom facilities. The breakfast, for a small additional cost was amazingly good. The staff were extremely helpful

When I booked the hotel, I informed the staff that I would be coming late, approx. 11pm. I was told to call the reception phone and that I would be let in by security on my arrival. When I got to the hotel, I called the number provided 6 times and no one answered, after a very long time (45mins to be precise), a staff member opened the door. I also showed the staff member my phone and how many times I had called. I was handed a key to my room, not shown by staff. The bathroom was not great as there were one too many public hairs left in the bath, skirtings and extractor fan was pilled high with dust.

Bedroom looked jaded. Having a bath in the bay window overlooking street on the first floor is strange. Also not good for people with mobility issues. Felt grubby and in need for TLC, but cannot fault friendliness of staff.
