Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandYes it’s a little on the small side but we were well aware of this before we booked. The room was satisfactory for two nights for us because we didn’t intend on spending a huge amount of time in our rooms. It was comfortable otherwise. Only thing my friend said that they would suggest is investing in air conditioning. That being said at least the Pilgrim have measures in place to help . We did however keep the fan on and window open at all times when in the room and it was still quite warm.
Location was definitely the biggest pro when it came to staying here. It is right beside Paddington and it was close to everything we wanted to go to. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable and staff were friendly. Water bottles that you can refill are offered at reception. We stayed in the bunk bed room which was small but this is stated so we knew what we were receiving. It was suitable for the two of us.

IrelandThe room does shake a little from early morning with the trains. Pub next door which is connected is to be avoided.
Location right beside Paddington station. Nice little coffee shop in reception with free water fountain, pantry with free tea and coffee. Lovely Decor, old features but modern.

United StatesRooms are small so a few more hooks for clothes, and 2 people really needed another luggage rack, no need for a chair. Some liquid hand soap on the wall next to the sink would have freed up the shelf for Dopp kit.
Location, aesthetic, comfy bed, food, music & service.

United KingdomI had one of the bunk bed rooms, there's no TV, however the WiFi is good & free so I was able to watch via a tablet/phone. Also no kettle in the room but the larder on each other floor was well stocked with all manor of tea and coffee, again included in the price.
Nice location on the doorstep of Paddington Station, for me running the marathon it was great they allowed me to leave my case for collection once I'd finished. I would use them again if I was doing the marathon again. The shower room was adequate, plenty of hot water for a shower, just a bit on the snug side, glad I was a solo guest as it would have been quite tight moving around. Nice to have a window that opened,my room was on the side of the hotel so no view but surprisingly quiet for central London. I didn't eat at the Pilgrim so cannot comment on this side of the stay, 2 pots of instant porridge instead as I needed to leave before the breakfast was done😋

GeorgiaWeird noise from 7 am to 1 am. Can hear everything from halls as well. No breakfast included is sad.
I absolutely adored this design-forward hotel with a twist on industrial chic. it was beautiful, cosy, and effortlessly cool. The view on a backyard was like something out of a classic film, truly delightful. Everything was spotlessly clean, and having pantry access was a convenient touch. Comfortable bed & pillows. Despite the compact size of the room, the clever use of space was evident, maximizing comfort and functionality.

MexicoYou have to make your check in in their web page, and they will not do it for you even if you are in the front desk, that is a waste of time! I spent 15 minutes waiting for the previous customer to do it, and other 20 minutes in my check in, just to receive your room! If they want to focus on new generations this is a very bad way to do it. The room was also tiny and it was supposedly the extra-large room, they told me it was a king size bed and it was just queen. If you are not travelling with your partner/spouse the bathroom is absolutely uncomfortable because the door is semi-transparent so you can be seen sitting in the toilet from outside.
The location is great, just in front Paddington train station. The hotel is beautiful and a staff with very good service.

TaiwanThe pilgrm is a nice hotel but the space in the room is quite small. I don't have much more space to walk after lay down my big luggage. That would be the only point I concerned. Anyways, the breakfast is so delicious and I enjoyed it with my busy works a lot. I also appreciate the staffs for helping me carry my luggage. Thanks a lot!
