Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsNothing was not to our liking. The room was maybe on the small side, but tastefully renovated.
We had a room on the 10th floor with an excellent view over the palace and gardens. Also, we enjoyed the pizza late in the evening in the piano bar and the breakfast was very nice too. The car park was a bit tight with many turns and columns though.

United KingdomBreakfast. It would have been nice to have the breakfast procedure explained (e.g., “please help yourself to A, we will take your order for B at the table”. Breakfast is done a little differently from hotel to hotel.) One of the waitresses was grumpy bordering on rude, and quite reluctant to help or explain.
I was very pleased that our room was changed from one with only a view of the air conditioning unit (or similar), to one with a view of the park. The gentleman on reception was very polite and helpful, and appreciated the importance of the trip to my partner and me.

Isle of ManWe had an a la carte breakfast and my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs wasn’t good so after one mouthful I left it, but the maitre D was fab and sorted things out for me after noticing my food was untouched and I was eating some of my daughter’s pancakes. The lunch and supper we have had there in the past though has been fantastic, and my husband said that his continental breakfast there was great, so next time I’ll order the same as him!
Fantastic service at reception when we checked in and he made sure a suitable room was found. The room was great - we had a view of the back of the palace and not the road, so super quiet. Beds were comfortable, bathroom great.

Spacious clean rooms, newly refurbished, lovely view over Hyde park. Very comfortable bed with the best pillows (personally speaking). Bath and shower choice as well as Penhaligon toiletries.

Perfect location, very close to both bus and tube station. The area is beautiful, with parks and shops. Staff was helpful end nice and managed to solve any issue we had during our stay. The room was clean, spacious and tidy with big windows. The kind size bed was really comfortable. Check out time at 12.00 is definitely a plus.

TurkeyThe first night, around 10 o'clock, one of the staff knocked very hard on the door. When I opened the door, he told me that the next room had complained about your noise. 1. Normally they shouldn't do it like that, should have called from the reception and ask. 2. They should come and see if there is a noise, in a normal conversational tone (no music, no TV, no meeting, etc.), nobody should complain at 10 o'clock.
