Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe rooms doors around are making so much noise every time are closing... It is an issue to work on and be solved.
Very well located with public transportation in front of the hotel. Many shops and restaurants nearby. We had a nice view on the Hyde Park and Kensington Pallace. Clean and comfortable. Good services and nice staff. Good facilities for a 4 days seminar we attended.

United KingdomReception staff upon arrival were decent but quiet. Abrupt reception staff when leaving. We were asked by the receptionist, when entering the lobby “can I help you”. To which we answered yes please, we would like to collect our bags. And handed him our ticket. He responded “That’s for the concierge” in a very condescending tone. TV was too slow . Had minimal channels and choices. Very out of date technology. Room was a bit on the smaller side but we did book the smaller room
Loved the location. Great surrounding amenities. Close to an underground station. Walking distance from Royal Albert Hall (the main reason we stayed). Very good housekeeping for the majority of the stay

NetherlandsI had a suplementary sofa bed that needed to be done. At check in i was told it would have been ready but that if it was not, I call reception and they would send someone right away. I went ip, it was not done, i called and was told they were sending someone right away but it never came... so i did it myself. Not a problem but left a poor image at that respect. Otherwise service was perfect
Location and style. Loved the modern but stylishly simple elegance of the rooms and common areas. Much better than the old stuffy style you find in many London hotels

United KingdomI had booked a garden room and we didn’t have a view of the gardens. Some staff struggled with English in the restaurant, so made it a little challenging. But overall a nice experience.
Rooms were clean and airy. Restaurants had a nice atmosphere and loved local produce.

United KingdomI think I expected a bit more with it being as fancy as it was. Felt like some of the plug sockets even when used wobbled like the plug was loose. The TV wasn't great and the remote sometimes would not work with the TV no matter how many times you pressed the buttons.
The bed was very comfy and the staff was incredibly helpful and lovely. My reason for the visit was the Royal Albert Hall so it was a good place to book.

United KingdomOddly, for a modern, purpose-built hotel, we could hear the occupants in both adjoining rooms. We could hear conversations (though not what was being said) and the television playing from the room on our left, and from the room on our right we could hear the occupants talking and speaking on the phone. The front desk staff say they have never had this complaint from this room before. I have no reason to doubt their word, but I am surprised the issue of sound-proofing has not come up before.
Lovely, attentive staff. Nice, if anodyne room. Good, comfortable bed - and a lovely view over Kensington Gardens.

United KingdomA sudden optional tipping system for the waiting staff which was placed on your breakfast table. No explanation as to how or where this system went or how it was distributed amongst the staff. We have stayed at the hotel recently and guess it’s a new thing. Made us feel uncomfortable.

FranceInsects around another guest's door - and we were in a big suite the first night, then moved to a smaller, double room after that and the smaller room was PUNY. No drawers to put clothes in - if the room is for two people, two people should be able to unpack their things?
Loved the suite, the view, the staff, the products in the bathroom, loved that the staff took my two big complaints (insects swarming around the door of the room three doors down & someone smoking on my floor) seriously & moved us ASAP

United KingdomThe restaurant felt a bit cramped at times. Tables a bit squashed together. Breakfast-sausages and bacon unappetising. In late afternoon/early evening some people held meetings via Zoom(?) on their laptops in the restaurant. We found this exceptionally disturbing. These meetings should only be allowed in the hotel lobby. This was worst part of our stay. One waitress got irritable at breakfast when we complained about the coffee. Very unprofessional on her part. We refused to pay service charge when invited to do so,
The room (Royal Studio) was modern, huge and very luxurious. Was quiet too .Bathroom excellent too. We were told that they had been recently refurbished. This was the best feature of our stay. Food was very good, mostly. Staff mostly efficient sometimes quite friendly. Beautiful area.

United StatesWe stayed in an upper floor newly remodelled room. Beds were very comfortable as well as the view. Little clothing storage space - only hangers and night tables. Sound carried through the walls from the people in the room next to us. This posed some disturbance for sleeping. Although I requested a “quiet” room, the lack of sound proofing between the rooms countered the quiet room benefits of having a room overlooking a Hyde Park and Kensington Palace well above the bustle of the street below.
Breakfast buffet was excellent!
