Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom is quite small - fine for a weekend. Private bathroom is separate and on a different floor. Though this is to be expected for the price.
Room and whole building has a bright and modern decor. Shared kitchen is useful for breakfast. Some fabulous restaurants very close by - we went to Salt Marsh Kitchen and Millie & Sid's. Well located for a walk down to the beach and a short drive to the mountains. Excellent value.

United KingdomI would have liked a wall light or table lamp as the only light was the very bright ceiling light.

United KingdomThe toilet room was a little on the small side and the 'parking opposite' was a little misleading as there were just a few time limited bays on the street . (We did learn that there is a carpark nearby after our arrival )
As we have dietary allergies we loved having the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster ) in our little suite and appreciated the separate cupboards /shelves in the communal kitchen ,fridge and freezer. The rooms were comfortable , clean and well equipped . We could have used the communal dining room but we were also provided with a table and chairs in our room which was perfect for us . Internet connection was also good .. great for planning our forward journeys !

United KingdomWas a bit noisy on the second night. Someone had music on till well after 1am. Parking situation isn't ideal. 1hr restrictions on parking outside the lodgings meant I had to park well away from the room. A little inconvenient but not a deal breaker.
Easy location for what I was in the area for. The room was warm and comfortable, and I loved the mini eggs left as a wee Easter gift. Thank you

United KingdomSlight issue with people in room next door who had a young child and they appeared to let the child run riot and run up and down stairs etc. Threw leaflets over the place which I tidied up. No attempt to quieten the child either at night or at 6am in the morning. Not too much of an issue for me as I wanted to be up around that time anyway, but possibly for other guests.
Room was clean and tidy - no real issues

United KingdomUnfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable. The mattress was not very comfy and the bed itself was very noisy. The hallway could get smelly, because the restaurant next door has the kitchen outlet close to the windows.
The accomodation is located close to the train stations and there are multiple restaurants in the neighbourhood. The communal areas were clean and every room had their own cupboard and kitchen ware.

United KingdomKitchen was not used much so I didn't meet other guests. One of the chairs in the room was wonky, or maybe it was the floor. Bin by toilet too big. As usual, too many pillows and cushions cluttering up the bed for my liking.
Room and bed were very comfortable, and well decorated. The kitchen was clean, letting was very efficient and friendly on the phone, info in room was very useful for Tywyn, The room was quiet despite being on main road.

United StatesTiny bathroom would be difficult for more than 1 person. There was a trick to locking the front door when exiting--an explanation would be helpful. (You have to pull up the handle and then turn the key to lock). Note that one of the two chairs in the room seemed very unstable.
Check in was quick and easy. Communication prior to check-in was good. Room was very clean but small. Bathroom/shower was very small. Shower had sufficient hot water every day. Bed was comfortable. Community areas were clean. Space to iron clothes was helpful. Designated food space also helpful. Location in the center of town cannot be beat. Next to a great restaurant.

United KingdomRoom was very small with the bathroom across the hall. Separate single beds so not perfect for a couple. Not having always access to the bathroom was weird, especially in the night.
It was very clean and practical. easy access to free street parking in the area (free at non-peak hours). Close to the beach. Reasonable price for a last minute booking.

United KingdomWe booked a room with a separate private bathroom, it turned out that this bathroom was actually on a different floor to our bedroom. This wasn't an issue in itself but it would have been nice to have been notified. I received an email to tell me this info just a couple of hours before we were due to check-in, so we were already travelling. If I had known I could have brought a dressing gown or something to walk to the bathroom in the night/early morning. Same with being told no shower gel is provided, I could have packed some if I'd been told before. The room was nice but the bed was not very comfortable and it was very creaky every time I moved in the night. The building had a restaurant on the ground floor (a fab place to eat) and a cafe next door, this meant that the building had a strong smell of cooking most of the time. Our bathroom in particular was above the kitchen and there was a strong smell of cooking oil like fish being fried. By the end of our stay it was really starting to bother me but it might not be a problem for others.
We were welcomed by staff in the office which was just a few doors down from the accommodation. The lady who greeted us and checked us in was really helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location of the accommodation is perfect. A short walk from the railway station. Close to all of the town's pubs and restaurants. Just a short walk to the beach. The accommodation is self catered and the kitchen appeared to be very clean and well equipped. Although we did not use it very much so I can't comment in detail. The dining area was nicely decorated and would be perfect for a large group. The rooms and building in general are well decorated and very clean. The price is very reasonable if you are travelling on a budget. The bedroom was well furnished for a small space although the lack of useful mirrors was frustrating.
