Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. It was all great.
We were working at The Grand Opera House so the location was wonderful. It was very comfortable and clean. Tony was an excellent host with plenty of information prior to our arrival (the handbook is a triumph!) and was quick to respond to any queries. The price was also amazing for the location and standard of facilities. The flat was exactly as described and like the pictures. Make sure you read the instructions in the folder in the flat about the storage heaters. Once switched on at the wall, the flat is lovely and toasty in the morning. We didn’t read them the first day and hadn’t switched them on at the wall. Our mistake! When you switch them on at the wall there are no lights or anything, but trust them. They do heat up overnight and work very well. Don’t hesitate, just book. Next time I’m in Belfast I won’t stay anywhere else.

AustraliaThere were a lot of stairs. Two sets. Steep when carrying heavy luggage up. Wouldn't suit someone who had any difficulties going up just one flight of stairs.
A great location with plenty on your doorstep. Short walk into the main hub of Belfast. Beds were very comfortable. And it was very pleasant to be able to open windows to let some fresh air in. The kitchen had all we needed for heating up food, cooking etc. Decent sized lounge/dining area. Comfortable sofa. Very clean. Host was also very helpful with communication.

United KingdomClean comfortable flat with everything you could ever need thought of. Beds were lovely and the kitchen really well equipped. It was bright, quiet and nicely furnished. The location was amazing, a few minutes walk could take you everywhere you would need to go, including the Botanic train station. There are loads of restaurants and bars nearby and some supermarkets - including a middle Eastern one very close.

NetherlandsI was a bit disappointed with level of cleanliness in the bathroom (other rooms were ok). The shower head had hair on it and I spotted some spider webs. The shower also didn't work very well, warm water pressure was quite bad, but it was possible to take a shower. Beds are very soft, too soft for my taste. It was impossible to sleep with two in one bed, because you could feel every move of the other person, however, it's a personal preference I guess. (I just prefer harder mattresses). The bed in the small room also squeaks, so first night was a bit difficult, then I got used to. Apartment is a bit dark, which is a shame, but we didn't spend too much time inside, so it wasn't a big deal for us.
The location is amazing, it's close to the city center and Botanic Gardens with Ulster Museum (on the other side). The apartment is quickly reachable from the bus station, and very easy to spot. It's very spacious and has a lot of facilities (tv, hairdryer, iron etc etc...). Kitchen is fully equipped, there was really nothing missing. If you want to cook instead of eat out, it's fine! They have Netflix, so you can chill on a couch and watch films in the evening with a nice Irish cider. :) They also have books and games which is super nice! If you forgot a toothbrush or paste, they also got you! The owner was super helpful, I have never experienced something like that, he replied within 2 minutes. All in all very positive.

United KingdomThe only thing I can think of is that the bath curtain was perhaps a little old, so it had a bit of a weird smell! But this is very irrelevant!
The house is wonderful - beautifully decorated, has everything needed for cooking, super cozy and comfortable. I slept like an angel as the bed is very comfy and it is a very quiet neighbourhood. The location is perfect too, just minutes walk away from the centre, such as the Ulster Hall and City Hall! I was alone so it was a little expensive, but the house accommodates 4 people and even has a sofa bed, so it is very affordable for a couple / family with children!

IrelandThe main bed was very unstable/soft due to 2 mattresses being stacked on top of one another. I also would've appreciated a hair dryer.

AustraliaProperty had all the facilities we required, the only issue was shower pressure was extremely poor however we managed to get around this by using the bath taps, which provided enough pressure for shower head. Strongly suggest shower mixer tap is checked for restrictions etc.
Property is in an ideal location, a short walk to city centre and transport options
