The room has a very short ceiling (top floor) and the bar is a fridge with a short variety of expensive drinks you can grab on your own (for instance 12£ for 200mlof small bottle prosecco).

The outside is great and the room is spacious and newly renovated. The stuff was very friendly.

The coffee in the morning was not good (luke warm and tasteless). The breakfast room could get a bit crowdy in the morning at certain times.

Beautiful old building a bit outside of Edinburgh next to the Holyrood Hill. The lounge with honesty bar was really nice. Staff very friendly. Easy parking around the building. Our bedroom was nice with a comfortable bed and good walk-in shower.

Very stylish interior. It was a very pleasant stay. The location is very quiet - safe parking and one can reach everything by foot. Wonderful location. Super friendly welcome and very friendly staff at the breakfast.

Pillows were too high (for me - subjective opinion 😉). If you are hoping for as gorgeous rooms as Castle outside than look somewhere else. Rooms were clean, beautifully designed, but compared with castle's outside - like day and night. Room lock was glitching.

Amazing architecture! Stunning views! Room was so clean, cleaning personal was like an ants - all the time around and polishing Castle. Breakfast was great! Me and my husband had birthdays so Prosecco as a warm welcome was sweet touch! ❤️

The room was a little smaller than expected but very elegant and cozy. The bathroom was bright and airy. The staff were incredible and very helpful and went above and beyond to be of assistance as we had an unexpected hiccup with our car rental. THANK YOU!!! They even made a congratulations platter and gave us prosecco and chocolate with a lovely handwritten postcard for my friend's graduation from the UOE!!! The warm welcome and recommendations for local eateries and activities was absolutely incredible! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I'll absolutely stay at the Scott again during a future visit to Scotland!

A beautiful old property, a lovely ambience. Room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable with blackout blinds and curtains. Breakfast was also excellent. Such a relaxing stay. We will definitely be back.

My only issue was the lack of air conditioning, as a Scotsman myself I can't believe I'm saying that about accomodation in my country, but it was very warm at night.

Accomodation decor through out was stunningly impressive, a great mix 18th century wood work, beautiful period cornices and painted ceilings, combined with the re upholstering of period furniture in modern fabrics with modern contemporary art on the walls. An unexpected joy and a fantastically luxurious place to relax. The well tended gardens and very quiet location, despite being within a student campus, again added to the relaxation.

Bathroom wasn’t as luxurious as the room was, for the price I would of expected better facilities like sauna, pool etc and dinner options.

Very clean, location central for city, staff very friendly, breakfast was amazing, And welcoming gift on arrival as it was a birthday.

The room was on the highest floor which meant a walkup of three flights of stairs. No elevator of course. This also meant the ceiling was quite low which made the room feel even smaller. The radiator in the bathroom couldn't be turned off at all which made the room feel quite stuffy at night. Sleeping with the windows open meant we had quite a bit of street noise.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom very clean. The breakfast was exceptional and all of the staff really lovely. Check-in and checkout were both really quick and easy, again, the staff made us feel right at home.

Some staff did not greet us with a warm smile each day and looked to be unhappy. The bed was too soft and little touches like soap holders in the shower, refilling the coffee each day were missing.

I am 77 years old and I had difficulty taking my suitcase up and down the stairs.

Our room was up stairs and along corridors and up and down more stairs, to the furthest reach of the hotel. Not for the unfit. Reception was a bit basic: just a person behind a small table/desk (but very pleasant person) in a large room. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, admittedly 10 minutes before 3.00pm but we waited half an hour before we could access it.

The location was good, as long as you could walk reasonable distances into the 'tourist' areas of Edinburgh, or get a taxi. Room pleasant, comfortable and clean. Tea and coffee making facility available. Breakfast about average to slightly better. Dinner was available in an adjacent building with modest range of options but priced fairly. We enjoyed what we had there.

The poached egg was hard and the sausage was less than average in the full Scottish breakfast.

To be honest it was a little average.
