The fact it was not near a road and I had to carry my luggage quite a way to the car parks across very soggy and boggy grass. It was very cold at night and the heater in living area was not working. There were no instructions in the caravan and because I was on my own in the double room I did not know until the end that there were blankets and a moveable heater stored in the cupboard in the little bedroom

The caravan was clean and comfortable and was well equipped. Also it was nice to find after a long journey coffee and tea etc and some milk in the fridge.

The property was clean, though we took our own bedding and towels or had to pay extra.

Could have done with a dustpan and brush or a broom.. couldn’t find one in there (may have just missed it) but that’s just nit picking as we had a fab stay 😁

Everything was lovely, easy to find, clean, little added extras such as the milk. Biscuits went down a treat with the kids and tea coffee sugar etc.. nice and local to lots of things to do.

We spent a substantial amount of money in the on site club house on the first night and were welcomed. The second night had a drag night but I was allowed to buy a meal and sit in the back room with the kids. On our last night, we were told that they would not let us eat as they had a Rave night. The staff were quite rude and unfriendly. Having spent a lot of money with them, I found this attitude upsetting and had to walk with two children into town at night to find food. This has nothing to do with our host, but you should be aware of this if staying with children. I would not return to the site because of this.

Our host was great. No towels had been left and they were brought immediately after I contacted. Lovely little welcome pack was great, especially the pint of milk. The van had everything we could need for our short break.

The caravan park is situated a little too far out if you don't have a car. During the summer months there looks to be a good bus service though. Unfortunately for us the bus only ran 3 days so we had to rely on taxis, which can also be hard to get. Personally, we feel that the entrance doorway to the caravan could have done with a stair rail as the steps were a little steep to get in and out.

Caravan was very well equipped and was lovely and clean. The site would be better during the summer season, and we did have an issue with the bar/restaurant but that was no reflection on the accommodation.

I like to meet people who are very different from me. It is a learning experience. I know not everybody will like to socialize with people who are different or poor or strange or just plain John and Jane Does.

It is a trailer in a trailer park. Very clean and in walking distance from Sandown center. We loved the very interesting mix of characters and people there. Very nice pub style meeting point for the community.

The accommodation was underrepresented on the booking platform. It had far more to offer than was mentioned. The email giving arrival instructions did not give the unit number on what is a large site. There was an inevitable delay whilst we contacted the owners. Providing the unit number with arrival instructions would be an obvious improvement. Finally, there is no recycling undertaken on this site.

The accommodation was very well appointed. Ideal for two of us. Comfortable with very good facilities and equipment. The on-site McCarthy's bar provided a friendly venue with good food.

Have been coming to the fairway for years as it's a great location for exploring the island. To get an entire week at such a bargain price & that close to half term - we were absolutely chuffed! What was really unexpected was how the hosts really went the extra mile thinking of all the little necessities you might usually forget to bring. So many little touches that made it homely and welcoming. Caravan was so well equipped and I can't begin to tell you how much of a sight for sore eyes it was to arrive to toilet roll, coffee, milk, and even a little basket of chocs & biscuits after a 4 hour journey! No extra charge for pets either. Great hosts all round 👏🏻

Whilst I am sure that the situation of the caravan was fully compliant with all regulations it did feel rather close to others and therefore subject to noise from surrounding occupants. No problem during the day but rather annoying after midnight. We also found it a bit tedious in that we couldn't park our car next to the caravan although we did get used to this as the week wore on.

The location of the caravan was very good with easy access to various trails and footpaths. It was prepared to a high standard of cleanliness and was easy to access via the key box.

A nice caravan for a small group in an out-of-the-way location, with beach less than 30 minutes away

Although the well-kept two-bedroom caravan can technically sleep 6, using a fold out bed in the lounge, it's not really comfortable enough for 6 adults/older children and all their luggage, due to lack of storage space. The photo of the camp entrance is the old one and the postcode of The Fairway address takes you right there, near the golf course, as do the road signs, only to find that entrance is now blocked by old 'vans and the gate rusty and chained up. It takes a bit of initiative to work out that the entrance is now on the opposite side of the camp, hidden in the middle of a housing estate on Perowne Way, which is a narrow road with parked vehicles and traffic calming measures all along. Although technically parking is possible next to the caravan, there is no adjacent hard-standing and the ground was boggy grass in August making it awkward, but more importantly, because the caravan is in the middle row of several staggered rows of caravans it is very difficult to weave an average size vehicle between all of the other caravans, avoiding trees, bollards, gas bottles and storage cabinets. The access road goes around the outside of these rows of 'vans, leading to two small usable car parks and one rough one, however as the bar/restaurant is also used by the locals, parking can be difficult. The camp facilities are not great for kids. The swimming pool has been closed for months apparently but Fairway's website doesn't tell you this. The amusement arcade is closed and used as a storeroom. The small central grassed 'play' area has a sign saying 'No ball games' and there is nothing else except a tiny metal slide only suitable for under 4s. There are no bins in the recycling centre, just a rusty old skip for all refuse in the car park. I read that the camp has new owners who are gradually making improvements and, for example, there was a pool engineer there at the end of our week.

Pleasant caravan is owned by a lovely friendly host and has all of the self-catering fixtures and fittings you would need, as well as some extra features such as DVDs, books, outside chairs and a delightful seaside-themed decor. There were also a few 'welcome' essentials left for us like tea, coffee and biscuits. The main bedrooms are comfortable with a better quality of linen than you get at large corporate-rented caravan sites. It's ideal for a group of 4 that would like a quiet break. It is a 20 minutes walk to the Sandown seafront once you find the 'secret' path. Although there is no shop onsite, there is a small supermarket just outside the new entrance. There is a popular bar/restaurant on the site, which has a couple of pool tables and a large TV showing sports but it doesn't get too noisy at night time. The Sandown location is good for exploring the east coast and central part of the island.

The site locations of bins, and, parking isn't well thought off. Pool not open. No security in site. Only bar was open seemed to be full of loud residents no holiday makers

Compact. Cosy. Perfect for what we needed. Not to far from visiting friends and easy enough to visit tourist areas and especially the beach! Both Sandown and Shanklin beaches were within easy walking distance.

Other reviews mentioned parking and noise - we just used parking bays near to caravan or the big car parks close by. We didn't find parking an issue as it was a very short walk. Caravan park was very quiet and enjoyable - very close to the Red Squirrel trail for walks and cycling.

Clean and comfortable caravan in a good location for exploring the Isle of Wight. Quiet caravan park, with facilities that we didn't use as we were busy each day. Kind and helpful owners who gave good instructions and responded quickly - and left tea/coffee/sugar/milk and biscuits for us when we arrived. We would happily stay again if we visited the Isle of Wight.

The owners of this static caravan advertise it with high rating I wish I had read other peoples comments before I booked ,the instructions for directing you to caravan hopeless !! It is hidden behind other vans and in amongst a muddle of other vans . Across grass with no hard standing any where near to park car . We had to carry luggage 150 yards and the found a set of two old metal steps to gain entry to van with no handrail to hold , whilst the door opened outwards towards you .putting you off balance .. The owners do not have a photograph on the web site showing any external views of van ??? Only a picture in the window displaying D6 car parking was available around site on the Sunday we arrived , the only space available was in the maintenance yard approx 1000 yards away from pitch???? Listings described as linen supplied ? Once the booking had been made on a non refundable basis 4 night stay £219.00, I received a message that bed linen for one double bed would be additional cost of £15.00 for laundry Internal furnishings were damaged and shoddy. We decided not to stay and booked a hotel with booking .com

We did not receive an email on the day of arrival to tell us how to access the property so I had to message the owner for instructions. There were no bath towels which I would normally expect in a rental property. The fridge did not work properly - either freezing our food, or defrosting and dripping wet inside. It was very cold in the evenings and the radiators were not sufficient to warm the living space and bedroom. I was under the impression that the beach was a short walk through the woods but you would have had to walk through residential areas to get to the beach and the route was not obvious. There was no access to WiFi until after 1200 when the on-site bar facilities opened.

The accommodation was well placed to be able to drive to the areas we wanted to visit in the east of the island. There was a beautiful sandy beach within driving distance. We felt safe and secure during our visit. The grounds were well maintained. There was plenty of hot water and the gas oven and hob were full size and worked well. The TV worked well. There was a microwave and plenty of cooking equipment. It was nice to have a few essentials like washing up liquid, cooking oil, tea towels and even some welcome biscuits. The on-site bar facilities were clean and well set up. The staff were friendly.
