Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI have mobility issues and requested an accessible bathroom, however my room only had a bathtub, no shower. I cannot get in or out of a bath. Also (and this is a small thing), there was no holder for the loo roll, and to keep it away from the wet sink, it had to be stored well out of reach. Not good in the middle of the night!
The location was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable.

BelgiumWe thought Salisbury would be a bit more vibrant at night - but nothing about Sarum College - this was a perfect stay
The location was just perfect!! Such a privilege to be staying at The Close - the oldest and most exclusive place of Salisbury. Just lovely to be in such a privilege location. The College itself is OK - room are super clean and excellent breakfast. Brings back memories of being at College! Parking was easy as well.

United KingdomThe mattresses on our room were very firm and we would definitely recommend a good mattress topper but that was the only concern we had
Exceptionally clean and very good breakfast... Great if you are visiting the cathedral or singing with a visiting choir as it's situated in the Cathedral Close, and parking is available... It is functional but staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWonderful location in the Cathedral Close in Salisbury. Building is the beautiful former Sarum theological college..well equipped. Excellent breakfast. Perfectly placed for walking over to the Cathedral for the early morning service, which is a memorable experience....you visit the wonderful 13th century Cathedral well before the tourists are allowed in, which is a remarkable experience in itself. Convenient parking is available.in the Building"s own grounds.

IrelandEverything was as expected.
Location was perfect. Breakfast was excellent though the breakfast room may not have been easily accessible for people with mobility issues. The rooms were basic and the toilet and shower were also basic but they had everything that I needed. There were no hair dryers or irons but I did not need any. There was a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. The place was clean. It was good value for money.

United KingdomThe price paid fully met my expectations however three improvements which would add value: 1. soft closing doors on the rooms. 2. real coffee at breakfast (although the instant coffee was a good quality selection). 3. to include in the welcome, some more information about the College.
Breakfast was described as superb, and it surely was. It was plentiful and served in a nice bright room. Money could not buy you a better location in Salisbury, walking out into the peaceful Cathedral close in the morning felt like a timeless experience. The rooms were clean and well turned out in the manner of a respectable B&B. The welcome from the staff was charming and friendly. The St John's Bible was on display whilst staying and this was an unexpected bonus experience.

United KingdomSarum College is a really lovely place to stay. It was a privilege to be within the Cathedral close. A small, clean and simple room with a very comfortable bed and lovely white fluffy towels. Excellent hot shower. Breakfast was everything you could want, cooked and continental in a lovely light filled dining room.

GermanyI liked it all. But if you can't stand the noises of an old house like creaking floors and doors, it is not the placefor you.
I loved the peace and atmosphere of the house. The location right beside the cathedral is lovely.

United KingdomOnly downside was ancient wavy wooden floor in our bedroom, which was a bit difficult for my disabled wife to navigate. Oh, the shower arrangement was a bit primitive in our room.
Location in Close is great. Our room had good view of cathedral. Lift in old building was a nice surprise. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Plenty of parking space during our trip. Self service breakfast was ample and well cooked.

United StatesThe location is sublime. Step out the front door of the College and the Cathedral is right there. I can't imagine a more beautiful location. I had a single and the room was basic and plain (but quite spacious) and the price was a bargain. The breakfast was tasty and solid. I was very glad to have chosen to stay here.
