Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPerhaps a bit more signage right at the start for getting into the building to reception.
The breakfast was phenomenal--the best of my whole 16 days in the UK! There was a wide variety of options available, and plenty for a vegan to eat.

United KingdomAs stated above, everything was very good except perhaps the tariff being a little high for quite a small room.
The room was on the third floor and accessed via a lift. The room had everything one would need, it was quiet and perfectly clean. The only gripe I have is that it was a little small, even though it was a single room! In which case I think a little over priced at £90 including breakfast. Perhaps £75 or max £80. Other than that everything else was near excellent

FranceI could hear some of the neighbouring rooms but never late.
I came early. I couldn't check in but I could leave my bag until check-in time. The single room was spacious and clean. The mattress was of great comfort. The nearby toilets and bathroom were never busy and clean. Breakfast was a hit and the location amazing.

United KingdomGluten free bread would ideally be seeded or brown. Noisy doors at night but it all went quiet about 10.30 and perhaps that depends on where your room is and how close to certain doors. My en suite had a bath but some just have a shower.
Very very clean and comprehensive breakfast. For example it seemed like homemade fruit compote for breakfast as well as full cooked breakfast, gluten free options and plant milks. If you’re used to hotels this will be different as it’s a college albeit for adults. It is a quiet, peaceful incredible location in cathedral close. It felt safe. The rooms are superbly clean and calm. I took kettle and tea/coffee. Communal facilities downstairs with fresh milk. Library can be used for reading whilst there. On site parking. Feels very special to stay so close to the cathedral in a building with related history. No television was fine for me as I wanted to be reflective. Bed was quite hard but that’s so personal. Extra blankets in room. Overall so lovely

ArgentinaThe room was not warm enough.
The rooms are not luxurious but have everything you need for a comfortable stay. They are also huge because that is where the students live during term time. The breakfast, also for students and teachers, is fantastic. The location is perfect for getting to know Salisbury. We had a room with an incredible view of the cathedral.

United KingdomNo issues from me!
This review covers two one-night stays with one day in between where I stayed elsewhere. All was good: perfect, quiet location in the centre of Salisbury, immediately opposite the cathedral; excellent breakfast (English and continental); easy to come and go (the front door is code-controlled); excellent staff; and good value.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. It suited us admirably.
The ambience of the College, our spacious room and its separate area with its comfortable settee. plus tea/coffee making area. The rooms were light and airy and of course the position of Sarum College could not be bettered. An excellent breakfast too. It was also great to be able to leave our heavy luggage on the premises until our departing train was due.
