Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeds very soft but that is just being very fussy!
Very helpful hosts. Brilliant location and house. Ideal for us and another family with 4 pre-school children. Lots of space inside (garden smaller than expected but lovely) and quite soundproof. One of the bedrooms had a little extra section that was perfect to fit our son's cot in so he couldn't see our bed!

United KingdomNothing to dislike a few minor pointers... Lovely garden but beware it's 100% secure, so I had to keep my puppy ( just turned 12 months old) on the lead whilst in the garden. Not a problem though. Would be nice to have spare dog bowls ( I forgot to bring water bowl & had to go & buy one). Cottage was otherwise very well equipped
Excellent cottage. Clean, tidy & well equipped. Good size bedrooms & comfy beds. Great kitchen / diner & cosy lounge. Lovely garden to watch the sunset over the hills just listening to the birdsong & nearby babbling brook. Good walks on the doorstep. There was plenty of parking, which was a bonus. Great location with views of mountains plus coffee cabin & small shop on campsite next door plus cafe & pub within flat walking distance ( cafe & pub not open all week). Campsite in front of the cottage was very quiet & cottage set back behind high hedges across the lane so it's not noisy at all. I enjoyed the peace & and quiet, but it was close to amenities & Crickhowell / Abergavenny. Very dog friendly. Lots of room for my small dog. ( Dog sleeps in her crate in the kitchen, so she needed space, but there was plenty of room for both the crate and her separate dog bed) 2 log burners, however it was warm enough, so I didn't use them. I was visiting friends locally, so I would definitely book again next time we visit.

AustraliaThe cottage could use some better cleaning to remove cob webs etc but not a major issue in the countryside. There is no working outside light so going out at night requires a good torch. The gate latch is hard to find in the dark. Better instructions are required about the recycling bins and process. A box of tissues would be helpful. The back path to the bins needs maintenance and cleaning. Access to and around the parking is very muddy. Both vacuum cleaners were full and didn't work. WiFi is strong and fast but range doesn't extend to the upper bedrooms. The shower in the main bathroom is too low and small for anyone over 5 feet tall.
Very quiet countryside location with lovely views (once the rain stopped) across the valley. The check in process was seamless and the information booklet was very helpful. The milk and chocolates were a very welcomed gift on arrival and the house was lovely and warm when we arrived. The cottage is a very old building but well restored and maintained. The bedrooms were conducing to a long sleep in with good blackout curtains and comfortable beds. The heating was easy to control and functional. The cottage has a wood heater with some wood supplied but we didn't use it as we didn't know how to dispose of the ashes or find additional fire wood (probably needs more info on this). The local pub is walking distance but only open Thursday to Sunday otherwise more pubs about 15 minutes drive away. You will need to stop in at Abergavenny supermarket for supplies as there are no supermarkets closer. Parking is a bit tight as there is a tractor access path beside the parking. The hosts responded quickly when we discovered that the iron was missing. TV and streaming are excellent.

Everything was perfect! The cottage had 3 nice and comfy bedrooms, 2 bathroom and 1 toilette. All equipment worked just fine; the washing machine, the heater, the kitchen stove, etc. My parents loved it. Plus, the staffs were very friendly and super helpful.
