How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower was awful. Boiling or freezing and nothing between. Kept switching. That needs to be sorted out

The bed wasn’t great to be honest, I’m 6’ 3” not a lot of room in the bed when there are two of you. It’s not that it was too low, it’s wasn’t comfy at all. There was Tea / Coffee & sugar but no milk.
The property is spotless, very clean and tidy, a good tv in the room with Netflix. Great value for money and a short walk to the cruise terminal. If you are there before 9:00pm there are loads of bars and coffee shops around the corner.

no breakfast as room only. lovely comfortable bed and room large and very clean , although shower water took a while to drain, the people in the room next to us had a visit from the police! and i also had to knock on their door at 10.40 pm to ask them to please be a bit quieter as they had music playing and were shouting !! apart from that great value for money . had a fab night sleep

Although the room was modern, we felt there were a few finishing touches like paintwork that needed attention (paint on floor, fire alarm point), and removing labels, plastic and instructions for appliances from the room. The blind in the bedroom needs to be secured to the wall properly as it's hanging off, and there is a loose plug socket in the bathroom which needs attention. A selection of breakfast tea and coffee satchets would've been nice too as green tea is an acquired taste. Also with there being a mini kitchen in the room, perhaps some plates/bowls or even a mini fridge would be nice, or even a little sink to wash the dishes in.
Access locks very impressive, room was modern, spacious and clean, bed was comfortable, smart TV and free WiFi, microwave, toaster and kettle in room. Heating was good, nice big window.

Check in was a bit confusing as it was all done by sending me a code to open the door locks, but the email was garbled. I had to chase to get correct instructions.
Cosy room, plenty of space, really convenient location, value for money.

Not really the host fault but people in the next door room were up all hours playing loud music. I had to knock the door and ask them to turn the music down. Don't let this put you off your stay, could purely be a one off. Could do with a rail to hang clothes.
Check in details where good and clear, even allowed us to check in early. Newly decorated apartment, clean and well presented.

No hanging space in the bedroom or hooks in the bathroom. Frosted window made room seem dark during the day - little natural light. Window in door to en-suite and swing door without catch felt strange for a triple room.
Very new and clean. Comfortable and as described.

Front foyer needed a good vacuum - not a good look on arrival ( but room very clean ) The bathroom has a weird sliding door ( half glass ) - not great for privacy .
Great location . Excellent value for money . Facilities good and property clean . Nice and quiet too !

No chairs or table - only place to sit is on bed. TV not programmed so nothing to see - useless. No instructions on HVAC so couldn’t get heat until allowed to run for several minutes. No person to contact - phone number provided did not work. Small toiletries provided we all previously used and virtually empty. Towel bar broken. No paper towels or napkins to clean kitchen counters. We were so disappointed nearly left for another hotel. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

Pubic hair in shower, broken towel rails stains on sheets … plugs sockets hanging off walls .. dirty cups leaking water under sink .. couldn’t shower as water wouldn’t drain .. so they gave us another room and the toilet flush didn’t work .. tv not working .. vomit stains on floor hall that carried on into the titanic room .. no curtains in room so had light coming in from outside .. no lock on bathroom doors .. clothing left from previous guests

It was a bit soulless- towel rail was hanging off the wall and some decor was unfinished. Felt quite office.
The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. I rang the number on the listing as I needed something and they were very quick to answer and were very helpful.

No service. Dirty towel. No furniture, not even a chair to sit or not even a hanger for a coat. No water pressure and very difficult to regulate the tempreture. No hanger for towels in the bathroom. The small hanger for the hand towel fell. Dirty dishes. Only few very very old tea bags in an open old box, which was probably for couple of years ago.
The property was spacious.

The only thing that was missing but not a major problem was the toilet roll and the hair dryer and also no body wash gel. Apart from that I can't complain
The room was very clean and spacious,everything looks new.Also the heating was working and I really appreciated that.

the entry into the building is poor and with no light at night time. there is nowhere to hang your clothes. one side of the blind the bracket was insecure , the screws were loose. there is a socket in the bathroom not fixed. under the bed had not been cleaned.
