Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, we loved it!
This was our second stay here and everything about our stay at Seamill House Hotel was exceptional. The Sannox suite has incredible views of the sea and Arran from the enclosed private balcony which is really lovely as you can enjoy the view no matter the weather! The room was very clean and comfortable and also quiet during our stay. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful which helps make the experience really welcoming. The View restaurant is also another reason we returned - the food is absolutely fantastic. We love this hotel because the beach is literally a 2 minute walk away. There is also a bus stop really close to the hotel or a nice walk through West Kilbride or the woods if you are coming from the train station. We hope to be back again soon!

United KingdomNot a criticism of the hotel itself, however there were some very inconsiderate guests on our floor who were in and out of each others rooms slamming doors and talking loudlyl til after 2am, which really disturbed our sleep. These thoughtless individuals definitely spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay. I did not report this when we were checking out mainly because the member of staff at reception did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay and also because there were others guests waiting to check out.
We stayed at Seamill House Hotel on 28th June we had an executive room named "The Brodick" which was lovely in every way with beautiful views from the balcony. Also the walk in shower was excellent. We had dinner bed & breakfast and the food was excellent, the choices at breakfast in particular were great.

Everything. Once you step inside the ambience, decor, cleanliness and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is evident. Our room was outstanding and we had a balcony with seaview. The food was fantastic and both food and drinks good value for money.

United KingdomHad 2 different meals here and both times the food was warm but not hot. Still edible though and enjoyed it. The vegetarian curry was lovely, and I would recommend.
The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding next door in the Seamill Hydro, it was a 3 minute walk at the end of the night along a brightly lit road. The hotel was immaculate, not one thing was dirty or out of place. Staff very helpful, we ended up booking a second room last minute and so didn't have dinner booked but the staff made it happen for us. Thank you! Less than a 20-minute walk and you are in the town centre as well as a beach right beside you and lovely views of the water. Had a great stay.

United KingdomWe had a road facing room, road noise was a slight issue and we were not notified at booking stage that this was the case. (unless it was in the small print... but who reads the small print) the main concern was the bed. This was far to firm for myself and my wife. Whilst we wont complain, we understand that hotels cant cater for everyone's specific needs in regards to mattress firmness.
It was modern and very clean, great facilities in the rooms. A SUPERB menu and the food was excellent !

United KingdomI had a room at the front so traffic noise was a a small issue from around 7am onwards but there is little you can do about that except possibly speed restrictions along that stretch of road. Also please get rid of the cushions on the bed, not needed.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Staff were excellent, attentive but not constantly fussing about which is the last thing you want in the morning. Room was spotless and had everything you could want.

United KingdomThe bins being under the window were not a great idea and would suggest maybe a covering in that area would definitely be advantage, there was black grime coming off the bottom of the glass when the small headed shower was turned on,,four am wake-up was the biggest issue as the sound of quite a few bottles being tossed into the bins really made the night sleep a big disappointment with such an early disturbance from which I struggled to get back to sleep ,recycling bottles at four in the morning is unacceptable.
Location was excellent and the breakfast was very high standard, staff were lovely and friendly, decor was beautiful, card and petals were a lovely touch.

United KingdomBreakfast was different from any hotel I have ever stayed at, tea and coffee provided from thermal flasks rather than brought to table. Two slices of toast provided on a plate rather than a rack of toast for the table The chef got the orders wrong every morning and we didn’t feel the food was particularly flavorful. Although the bar was well presented it lacked any natural light and wasn’t inviting
large room and well furnished, beautiful bathroom and fittings. very clean and well maintained. staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful. The restaurant had stunning views over the Clyde estuary

United Kingdombreakfast- this was quite poor. for a small hotel I wasn’t expecting to pour tea/coffee from a jug. Orange and apple juice was also self pour. it would have been nice to offer different tea and also different coffees. tea would also have been nicer if it was served tea bags in a pot. the eggs were under cooked, the whites were still clear and a bit vinegary (poached) and overall the dishes served were rather cold. we skipped breakfast on the second day as it was not enjoyable the first day.
lovely boutique hotel, nice big rooms and bathrooms. comfortable bed. fresh milk in the fridge for tea lovely staff too.

United KingdomIf I had to say anything it would be that it might be good to mention to guests when they check in Monday to Thursday that you cannot get dinner after 7.30 pm which seems a little early for a kitchen to finish in June .
Beautiful room we stayed in the Corrie room The food was excellent they obviously have a talented team of chefs .I have to mention a staff member Emma as she is such an asset to your hotel so warm and welcoming to the guests and genuinely interested in what people have to say .
