How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing not to like.
Mark and Liz was very welcoming. The room was well equipped and clean. They make a cracking cooked breakfast and are on the ball if in need of anything. Well done 👏 The hotel is in walking distance to the beach and amenities great place to stay.

Slight problem with tv. And couldn't get the electric heater to work. But warm enough anyway just a little cool in the morning 'not really any issues that would stop us returning.
Very friendly staff. Central location. Very good breakfast. Car park.

Parking a bit tight but perfectly acceptable. Breakfast slightly early 8-9am, but again perfectly ok for me.
Lovely homely bed and breakfast, clean and lovely room, modern bathroom with lovely large power shower. Great towels. So soft and luxurious. Comfy bed and nice linen. Warm welcome on arrival. Good quality breakfast.

That we didn’t stay longer

If really picky could say bedroom was a bit small. Bed was a bit soft, but that is just a personal choice. It would be useful to have somewhere to hang bath towels in the shower room.
Liz and Mark were really great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely shower room. Excellent breakfast. we will be back!

Felt very welcome - when stayed with previous owners felt uncomfortable Owners very friendly and easy to approach Very clean and comfortable Was surprised how modern the bathroom was, said wow when I walked in Flexible breakfast with good choice of what to eat Been visiting chap for years and this is best place I have stayed Bed very comfortable and actually slept through night and didn't wake up with back ache

Loved the traditional character of this bnb, friendly owners and very comfortable, clean , quiet room . Excellent new ensuite shower room and very comfy bed. Super breakfast and loved the steamed eggs! Off street parking and excellent location- just a couple of minutes walk into the centre of lovely Chapel St Leonard. Definitely recommend this place and will be staying again. Excellent value for money.

Room was a little small for a 6 ft 4 giant, But cozy.

The bed was uncomfortable. The heater couldn't be adjusted and didn't provide enough heat to warm the room up, woke up frozen. Wouldn't book back again due to this.
Very clean and tidy. Great location. Parking onsite also.

There wasn't much to fault; the sausages and hash browns didn't do it for me but that's such a minor thing it's barely even worth mentioning. The rest of the breakfast was absolutely flawless. Breakfast times are really early; 8am to 9am. It would be great if it was 8am to 10am. This isn't a problem at all though, they make it clear what time breakfast is served, even if we missed breakfast, there's so many lovely, affordable cafes in the area, it really wouldn't matter. The hotel staff were so accommodating though, there wouldn't be anything I couldn't ask for that they wouldn't have made a genuine effort to provide. It isn't easy to find on Google Maps and Booking.com's app is awful so getting the address up on the satnav initially was a pain but once we found the booking confirmation email, it was no problem.
Staff were great, very accommodating. Room was really cosy, it only had a little heater but it packs a punch and heated the room within a few minutes. Their eggs and bacon (well done) are amazing. It's in a really convenient part of Chapel St Leonards too with easy access to everything you need. Really looking forward to seeing them appear on the Hotel Inspector next year, that's going to be brilliant! We stayed in Room 6, it featured an ensuite, a double and a single bed. We only needed the double. The ensuite had a nice, powerful shower, there were a couple of lamps in the room, a ceiling fan and the sockets featured a USB port for charging our phones. They also provide (on request) USB minifridges which will hold a small bottle of milk which are really handy.

Liz and Mark made us feel very welcome and went the extra mile for us! Would highly recommend the accommodation, breakfast and most importantly the people! They also like to spend time to get to know their guests.
