Thin walls on the room, could hear the neighbours snoring - but nothing too bad!

Breakfast was generous and tasty. Staff so lovely.

I have only one remark which is the smell of chlorine from the swimming pool, due to my allergy I had to keep open the window.

The staff is very charming and friendly. Breakfast excellent, many options to chose , I really liked the dried mixed fruit and the fresh watermelon.the position is excellent and very good to have the car parking. The room are very nice.

Slightly worn feeling to the decor didn't give us the best first impression. This was over-turned by our happy stay though.

The location is perfect for a visit to Hay. Surprisingly quiet room considering the main road location. The bed was comfortable. Very dog friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Access to the swimming pool, though we didn't use it.

Not the cleanest and the bed was too firm personally. Low beams in the corridors were annoying. Really didn’t like having to step over a large dog, however docile, to enter or have it running round at breakfast one morning.

The breakfast was very nice with a good buffet. The rooms were very large with everything that could be needed. The swimming pool was an excellent extra. Obviously the town was lovely and everyone there and at the seven stars was very friendly.

This former pub is very olde worlde and a fascinating building with lots of charm and in a fab location. The staff are wonderful and Captain the dog is a proper doggie dude. Breakfast was excellent. Parking is great, especially for Hay where parking can be a pain.

Didn't particularly like staying in the room away from the hotel. It looked like there used to be a bar in the hotel which is now used as a reception desk. Shame as it would be a great added facility.

The staff were great and welcoming, very informative. The breakfast was delicious and plenty on the plate (we had the full english which had all the traditional trimmings). Swimming pool is a bonus.

    Having to leave,

The room was a good size, comfy bed, plenty of tea and coffee, the private bathroom was connected ( last hotel it wasn't and that was awful). Great location and there was free parking and WiFi. The breakfast was fantastic and plenty of choices. Di is a fabulous host and Captain the dog will cheer anyone up, came and sat at my feet this morning 😁 The swimming pool is in a separate building, it's heated and has changing rooms, a shower, toilet and sauna as well as the pool it self.

Surprised by a man letting himself into our room without knocking and without introduction. My wife went downstairs and approached him and apparently he was "tidying up". We were not informed of any room service and our room wasn't cleaned or serviced for the remainder of our stay. It was all a bit strange.

Nice place in a lovely location.

I forgot to bring my swimming trunks so didn’t get to use their pool!

The Seven Stars proved ideal for our two days in Hay on Wye conveniently located on the edge of town by the river. It has great old world ambiance with 16th century beams and snug but comfortable rooms. Staff are helpful and cheerful and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast.
