Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing which is very very small is the view from the pod is not as good as from the shepherd hut
The weekend we booked was the weekend of a great storm. The shepherds hut we was going to stay in had a leak so the owner up grade us to a pod .

United KingdomI guess it was the time of year but there was work going on in the farm and for a short time there was music playing loudly from one of the vehicles.
The location and the accommodation were perfect for what I wanted. The shower and toilet were very close which was great.

United KingdomI liked everything
I was very surprised how spacious it was inside. I’m tall (6ft 5in) but I could easily sleep in the bed, which was realy comfortable. The toilet and shower facilities were nice and clean and the breakfast items (cereal, milk, croissants) were a nice touch - I needn’t have brought ny own. A nice, peaceful location, close enough to the beach on foot.

United KingdomNothing at all. We had a great break.
Wow, what a lovely place to stay. The hut was clean and comfortable, the facilities for washing were clean and practical. The location was so quiet, peaceful and great for visiting the touristy places we wanted to see. We only stayed 4 nights but wished we had booked more! The welcome pack was a lovely, thoughtful gesture too. If we return to Norfolk we would certainly stay in a Shepherds hut at Shrublands again.

United KingdomOnly one tiny thing - nowhere to hang a towel in the loo! A coathook on the back of the door would be a useful addition.
We made a last minute booking and had a very speedy, friendly and helpful response to my pre-arrival enquiries. Charming little shepherd's hut in a perfectly quiet location. The hut is very compact so the adjacent picnic table is welcome for making use of outdoor space too. Only one or two other people on the site for most of our stay and we had the facilities to ourselves the whole time.

United KingdomToilet and shower could do with an 'occupied' sign. Noticed some electric hook ups by the hedge opposite the huts. Location wouldn't be quite as idyllic if there were others using the field. Steps up to the hut are quite steep (there is a grab bar) but may present a problem to some .
Communication was exceptional. We had a battle with the M25 on a Friday night, but Emma was more than understanding and we thank her very much for this! Huts had everything you need with a more than adequate welcome pack including milk, tea and coffee, breakfast bagels plus treats as well. Very thoughtful. Location is great. You certainly feel in the middle of the countryside. The huts are positioned in front of a hedge facing unspoilt landscape, presenting wide sweeping views across the fields to the coast beyond rather than the working farm behind the hedge. Even a small flock of sheep in the field next door! The toilet and shower, both very clean, are used only by those in the huts. As there is no running water in the huts, a great washing up station with recycling tubs and bins is located behind this block. This is really well thought out. With both a sandy beach and a local pub in walking distance ( 10-15 minutes) the huts are a perfect weekend getaway!

United KingdomAn engaged sign or light when occupied on the toilet and shower doors would be useful. It was also an unusual experience doing my washing up in the open air behind the toilet and shower block.
The peace and quiet of the location was perfect and the herd of cattle in the next field were lovely to see. The food supplies in the Shepherd's Hut were exceptional and I was very cosy and relaxed in there when I wasn't out and about.

United KingdomThere was nothing that we didn’t like. I think any quibbles would be to be expected due to it being a shepherd’s hut (eg running water/toilet facilities being away from the hut)
We had a friendly welcome, and the accommodation was in a great location: peaceful, with a nice view. The hut was beautifully fitted out and clean, and there was a very nice welcome pack.
