Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomExcellent room and Facilities. Very Friendly Welcome. Breakfast was lovely with a mixture of continental and hot buffet. Eggs were made to order and you could also order an omelette. Staff were so helpful and the food was plentiful.

United KingdomThe room was a little hot hence not being able to get a good nights sleep. Although lovely the Breakfast was buffet style and we’d have expected to be served and the staff were scarce, we had to get cutlery from another table etc. lack of service and the buffet style would stop us returning, shame really as everything else was of great standard.
The room was very clean and beautifully furnished and was very peaceful. Reception staff were welcoming and the hotel overall was beautiful.

The whole experience had a business dinner and coudl not fault service or food. Waiter was very helpful and the choice he suggested was inspired. I am a regular at the Chester.

United KingdomStayed in Harlaw suite. Suite is lovely but the shower head is really low. Not ideal for a tall person. Breakfast is terrible. Always stay at The Chester when we’re in Aberdeen and love the hotel but breakfast lets our stay down every single time. Not so appetising buffet with only the basics on tiny little plates . No option for eggs Benedict or smoked salmon etc. not everyone likes a fry up. Really poor selection and disappointed with it every time. Breakfast should table service. Queuing up to make your own toast and tea is not my kind of breakfast.
