Host Thomas was amazing, and his wife's breakfasts were such a great way to start the day. I cannot imagine visiting Islay and staying anywhere else. What a fantastic place Skerrols is, an absolute jewel!

I like everything about the hotel. But it might not be very convenient if you have small children since there are no restaurants nearby.

Guest house manager was very friendly and he accommodated anything for us. The location was exceptional. So peaceful. The best sleep I ever had. I would definitely come back again with my family next time!

We loved everything. The only thing I could think of is a small fan in the room, but it was abnormally warm, so I don’t think it would normally be needed.

The breakfasts were amazing. Thomas was a wonderful hosts and had so much info about where to go on the island. The room was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. The location is central to everything.

I never write reviews. But I’ve got to say - Thomas and the Skerrols house are top notch. My wife and I splurged for a honeymoon present and it was totally worth every penny.

Breakfast was special, served directly by the chef. The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful countryside. It is difficult to access by bus, but in return you can enjoy the typical Scottish natural beauty.

The property was cozy, comfy, and clean. The host of the house, Thomas, was very friendly, positive, and welcoming. He made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was very delicious (the best one during our entire 2 weeks trip around Europe).

The location is quaint and isolated. However, with that being said, the interior of the house has been renovated and is beautiful. My room was incredibly well-kept and arguably better than many 4/5 star hotels. Tom is an amazing host. Not only knowledgeable but overall just a nice person. He helped with setting up transportation and gave me suggestions regarding my itinerary. The breakfast is also better than many 4/5 star hotels. The dining area was clean and there were some lovely items on the menu. The fruit was fresh—it looked like it had been hand picked and brought in just for me! I cannot begin to say enough nice things about Skerrols Place and Tom. Thank you for taking such great care of me!

There’s not one single thing to dislike.

Skerrols House is a real luxury haven in Paradise. It is so beautifully presented and spacious. The rooms are massive and so comfortable. The Living Room and Snug are a real touch of class. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and the Dining Room is also gorgeous. Tomacz and Karolina are in a league of their own - we’ve travelled all over the world and never known a welcome like it. The hospitality, and special touches are phenomenal. Genuinely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed.
