There are no real negatives. The bathroom is quite small and no shelf space and it is built into the room. There is no space to put one’s toiletries or personal items.

The Sonos Guest House is in a nice residential area with easy walking to a few restaurants and great pub! The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. We were pleased with our stay and would return again.

The double bed was relatively small (~140cm if I am not mistaken). I believe that this is very common when staying in Scottish guest houses. If you are looking for bigger beds, you should consider staying in an international hotel chain.

Great guest house with very friendly hosts. The location is not too far from Edinburgh Old Town so we exclusively walked during our trip. Alternatively, there is a bus stop very close to the guest house. Even though they do not serve any breakfast at the moment, they provided us with complementary instant porridge and snacks on a daily basis. The room was clean and comfortable and contained everything we needed for a long weekend. Check in and check out was quick and easy. After we checked out, the hosts allowed us to leave the luggage in the guest house since our flight was scheduled later that day. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you are going to visit Edinburgh.

Some of the electrical fixtures and appliances, while functioning safely, are getting a little old and could be freshened up. There was no outlet where I could charge my phone by my bedside, which was slightly inconvenient, but it's something you get used to and is no big deal. Other than that, this was a very pleasant stay, and I would book again.

The guest house provides you with two locks - one fob for the front door, and a key to your room, which provides a very strong sense of security during your stay. The interior design really blends modern convenience with the vintage 19th century aesthetic, which is when the townhouse was built, from the winding staircase to the high ceiling in my room, which I did not expect but was a really lovely surprise. The room itself, while on the smaller side, was cozily decorated, and you are provided with a small breakfast bag when you check-in, which includes porridge, granola bars, bread and fruit juice. While the place doesn't serve full breakfast, it does have a dining area downstairs where you can grab light breakfast such as cereal, tea, coffee etc. before you head out for the day. The host and staff here were very welcoming and helpful, especially concerning my request to leave my luggage inside after checkout, so that I may explore the city and come back to pick them up later. The instructions were very clear and I appreciated this accommodation and the hassle-free experience.

The only thing that could have improved my stay would have been to have a mini-refrigerator in the room.

The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and located in a great neighborhood on a quiet side street. I also loved having a bathtub to soak in after spending all day walking around Edinburgh.

My experience at Sonas Guesthouse exceeded by far my expectations! My room was perfectly cleaned and prepared to accommodate my wife and me. In addition to the cosy place itself, a grab-and-go breakfast was available since we'd travel pretty early the next day. Lastly, the surrounding area is lovely, and we could find a perfect Greek restaurant right around the corner. I won't think twice when booking a place for my next quick stay in Edinburgh!

It will need a bit of repairing something and having carpet is not hygienic at all.

The location was perfect. They provide breakfast for every morning. The house has a very nice living room where you can eat. They have free parking, and the access guide to check in is very easy to follow. In general the organisation is great.

The guest house and the room was very clean and warm. The host, Irene, is exceptionally great! She is very caring and would make sure everything is well. We had a minor issue with the shower, and she immediately took care of it and fixed it.

Lovely clean and spacious room. Very nice employee. Compared to other accommodation where I have been before, the temperature in the room was pleasant. There were coffee and tea facilities in the room, as well as snacks every day. Yogurts and muesli available in the dining room. Walking distance to the center approx. 35 minutes. Definitely recommend.
