Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPlease ask the staff to provide pots of tea , properly prepared with fresh boiling water and jugs of cold milk.
SORRY - WRONG BOX I do have issues about the breakfast . Although the cups and saucers on the table were of a good quality , they were far too small for a breakfast cup of tea. I also had to carry two sets of them all the way to the buffet and make 2 cups of tea with water that was NOT freshly boiled. I then had to manage the milk situation. There were no jugs provided. I am usually half asleep when I have breakfast and to have to manage all that ( when I am paying a lot of money for a decent hotel ) is just not acceptable to me. A relaxing decent cup of tea to start the day is essential when I am considering booking The Mecure again.

IrelandI cannot think of anything
Everything was first class, this was my third time here, and my daughters are staying in July. If the price is right I will be back, we come over from Ireland to visit our son, so I check the rates before I visit, and hope the price will be OK, we tried staying on the 7th June to the 9th but it was too expensive, which was a pity. Hopefully in the autumn we will be back

United KingdomThe restaurant is very tired. It was not easy to book a table in the restaurant. This could only be done at the front desk, even they had issues with the software. The outside spaces have been neglected and were, for the most part, not available.
The staff were all pleasant and welcoming. The room was a good size and clean, although the bathroom was a bit tired. The food was reasonable in the restaurant.

United KingdomThe spa area was a bit disappointing. It seemed a bit dated and if I’d booked later, I would have had to pay £10 to use it. I don’t think that would’ve been value for money.
The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly when we checked in. The breakfast and room was good too.

IrelandYou had to pay for parking ( although lady on front desk offered free parking after we complained) There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby for our entire stay, smelt like bad drains. We booked a twin and double room and were told they couldn't be beside one another...when we went ro our twin room it was made up as a double so housekeeping came to change it...but my mum's diuble room was also available to split the beds...so really think we could have been beside each other. We were far apart each other and on different floors which wasn't ideal.

United KingdomChecking in was not smooth and blamed on a system not loading my booking so long delay which I found embarrassing as queue was very long. Breakfast was chaotic and disorganised and needs reviewing. Disappointed as was hoping for a relaxed leisurely breakfast.
Room was clean , comfortable with lovely shower facilities. Room had everything required and good choice of hot drinks as well as some cold drinks in the fridge. Very quiet and not disturbed by any guests coming or going.

United KingdomIt's a shame that you now have to pay an additional ten pounds per person per visit for the pool. This is part of the reason my husband and I choose this hotel. We come child free and enjoy the use of the pool too. The extra money doesn't make it seem worth it.
Breakfast is gorgeous, lots of choice and good quality. Hotel rooms are great too, upgrade if you can, its worth it.
