Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe lodge was a bit hidden, and we drove past it initially due to a discrepancy with the sat nav. However, this was not a major issue and did not detract from our overall experience.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely lodge! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and tidy everything was. The lodge is nice and spacious, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time away. The host was fantastic, providing us with excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options. Their warm hospitality really made our stay special. A delightful surprise was the provision of a dog bowl and biscuits for our Dog, made us feel even more welcome. The lovely spacious garden was perfect for our dog to explore and for us to enjoy the serene surroundings. We also had the pleasure of seeing local wildlife, including deer and pheasants, which added to the charm of our stay. Overall, our experience was exceptional, and we can't wait to return!

United KingdomLovely lodge with a very nice bucolic character, proper of Norfolk countryside but close to everything you need. The sky at night is lit with just stars as if you were camping in a remote area and you wake up to the chirping of birds in the morning making you forget you are just 20’ away from the centre of Norwich. The lodge is situated in the garden of the main house but with enough privacy and with everything thing you need. Spacious and very comfortable, has a cozy lounge with a nice TV and loads of board games, a separate dining room, a kitchen fully equipped and a laundry room. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the two full bathrooms are ideal for a stay of a larger family. The area outside is very pretty - we saw many pheasants and even a small dear greeted us one morning. Ah, and the trampoline was very big plus for our daughter! We stayed for 3 nights but could have happily stayed longer. Perfect for us as a family of 5 with 3 children aged 15, 11 and 8. We will certainly come back when we’re in the area again!

United KingdomThird stay so very little we don't like. It was exceptionally hot and we could have used a fan. But this has never been an issue before. The doors are difficult to lock with a key but bolt easily. My parents are in their 80s and this confused them a bit, thinking it wasn't secure. We would have liked some dishwasher tablets to have been available as buying a box for 4 days was a bit of a pain so remember to pack some.
This is our third stay and love it here. So peaceful in a rural location. Lots of wildlife. They have improved the garden area with the lodge so now dog safe for our small dog. The paddock and surround are well tended in zones the rest allowing for wildlife. Perfect in my opinion. Beds comfortable. Great bathrooms (x2) well supplied kitchen.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
Chestnuts Garden Lodge was in a quiet location on the border of Tharston and Long Stratton in South Norfolk. It was very spacious. There were three bedrooms, enough for 5 sleeping kids/adults, two bathrooms, a living room, a diner/living room, a very well stocked kitchen and a utility room. There was a microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven and hob. A covered patio with a fenced garden for kids to play in. Fields to walk your dog in. Very dog friendly. Lots of board games for the kids. 2 TV's and Wifi. Best self catered accommodation we've ever stayed in. Apart from our apartment in Bulgaria. Local Coop in Long Stratton is very good.
