Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaThe room is tiny but clean. Good location if you need to travel through Paddington station. This room, and I believe an entire hotel, is just for sleeping. Spend as little time in the room as possible. It is expensive but what to do, it is London where everything is expensive.

AustraliaI found the cleanliness of the room a bit lacking, but the overall facilities were quite clean.
The room was small, but all that was required for a single traveller that went exploring all day. The sink was a bonus, as was the little balcony. A filtered water tap (still and sparkling) was available in the lobby, which was a great money saver. Staff very really lovely and very helpful, one gentleman even carried my bag upstairs for me. The hotel is located in a couple of town houses with lots of character.

United StatesTiny bathroom, however it was clean and the shower worked well. The bed was what would be called a Full-sized in the US so a bit small. No hairdryer.
Very well located for access to Paddington Station. We needed a room for one night in this location. It definitely met the need and was exactly as described.

United KingdomNo breakfast offered or provided, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, small room with a small bed and a tiny bathroom. No toiletries other than 1 toilet roll, no soap, shampoo etc. Definitely paying for the location as very basic room, expensive in my opinion.
Good location in pleasant square of streets. Handy for most of London, plenty of pubs, restaurants etc nearby. Place was clean but could do with some updating. Staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful.

United KingdomThere were no tea and coffee facilities in the room. The facilities are on the second floor. I did not mind this but I understand some visitors would not.
The room was spotless, clean with plenty of space. They only provided one extra pillow. Nice view from the balcony. TV in room. The staff at the hotel are always happy and willing to talk and help. The location is PERFECT – a few minutes’ walk from Paddington Station (main or underground). There are plenty of local shops, cafes and restaurant directly outside hotel. The hotel does not provide breakfast but because we stay in Paddington often we eat at a place close to the hotel called La Tazza Café. The breakfast and service is first class and the staffs always remember us.

United KingdomRoom was on the top floor so a little difficult to get to with luggage in hand going up narrow stairs. There was no headboard for the bed so a bit difficult to get comfy but it will do for an overnight stay.
A very good location near the station. Decent room.

IrelandThe tube line runs directly under the hotel, it's not very loud but if you're a light sleeper or don't like the sensation of the vibrations/noise it might not suit you. For the price you're paying there aren't any breakfast facilities provided by the hotel, there is a tea/coffee facilities on the landing that is shared by all the guests staying in the hotel as well as a vending machine for snacks. Considering the price you're paying there should be tea/coffee facilities in the room. You have to leave your key at reception when leaving the hotel and it's given back to you when you return to the hotel. One of the evenings we were waiting a bit for someone to come back to reception to give us our key, the desk and key display is open to the area. I was tired (long day of activity) and simply got our key from the glass case (unlocked) and went to bed.
The location was perfect for what we needed, to be able to see London. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were serviced daily. The area was peaceful/quiet enough for London, I asked for a room overlooking the squares gardens. Paddington station is literally behind you and at the end of the road there are two hop on hop off tour buses for London. Plenty of restaurants and a hospital close by.

HungarySince Paddington station is close, you can hear/feel the trains going (windows shaking slightly), at least on the ground floor we did. Not a major inconvenience, but definitely good to know.
The hotel is very close to Paddington station, maybe 4 minutes walk. The staff was very nice and accomodating, the room was clean and had a nice view of a little park. Many little shops and restaurants near the area, many bus stations nearby. The hotel has 24/7 reception, you can leave your key at the reception. You get a good value for your money, I can definitely recommend.

United KingdomI had a room with a shared bathroom option and every time I went to use the toilet it was occupied. The other guests were noisy and the walls are thin so I could hear their late night conversations. There was also a man walking around in his boxer shorts as I was walking up the stairs, which as a solo female traveller made me feel especially uncomfortable.
It was a very affordable price

United KingdomReally clean, friendly and convenient location. Lots of noise from inside the hotel during the night (loud flushing of toilets, could hear conversations and TV from neighbouring rooms) Appreciate that no hotel is silent, but feel maybe the walls aren't very thick /insulated between rooms? Location was excellent, 2 mins walk from Paddington and overlooking a nice central green with plenty of amenities nearby. No noise from outside, so windows are well insulated.
