Room was small but given the age of the property this is probably normal. Could do with a refurbishment as chipped wall, dirt and food under base of bed, concern was the crack in the fireplace hearth though I was going to fall through it.

Nice place but in need of a spring clean. Stow is a beautiful village with the Stag right on the square, the location is excellent. Tbf the staff were lovely but I found the food somewhat overpriced. Was not so keen on the breakfast although there was a good choice. Just my opinion.

A relaxing break away in an excellent location!

    • Deluxe King Room

The room was rather dusty - the top of the dado rails in the room and the ensuite were all very dusty and the top of the mirror over the sink, although clean in itself, had a lot of dust along the upper edge. As everything else seemed very clean, it was rather disappointing to find so much dust!

The room was a good size and comfortable. The breakfasts were good and we also had an excellent evening meal.

Room cleanliness left a bit to be desired, basics- bed and floors were fine, shower and dusting needs doing properly and regularly. Lastly, get a mirror in the room for the ladies!

Staff and food were fantastic. Dinner menu was fresh with great choice, excellent breakfast. Location great, lovely town.

Some instructions on how to use the coffee maker would have been helpful.

The room was beautifully decorated and stylish. Lots of ideas to work on at home . Especially the panelling and height of the bed. I felt like a princess! Shower a wonderful rain shower and bathroom lovely and warm in time for morning shower. Great coffee making / tea facilities and good idea to have fresh milk in fridge just outside my room. Lovely and quiet despite being in centre of Stow. Breakfast wonderful and generous portions of smaller salmon and fresh locally laid eggs .

    1. Key to Bedrooms building next door - trying to unlock the door was a huge faff. Also experienced by other guests we observed. 2. Room4. The shower needs a total rethink. You can't have a shower without getting the floor wet even with the shower curtain drawn due to the angle of the shower heads. The top one is aimed at the back wall of the shower and can't be reached and the lower down one just gets the floor wet. Crazy. 3. Music. They need to rethink this. The music in the bar is evidently piped into the dining room. Sat night the music in the dining room was really loud and was a cross between the Beasty Boys and some Grunge type stuff - not relaxing at all. 4. You can see somebody having a shower through the window from outside. Although the glass was rivened you could clearly see somebody showering so some roller-blind is needed there since its on the ground floor guests can freely walk past it from the outside. 5. Hair dryer would be useful - we had to ask for one and the staff delivered it no problem.

Great friendly staff. Room was nice and big and bed comfortable. Food was very good and reasonably priced.Awesome location. Would stay again for sure.

The only thing to note is that this is a rooms above pub situation. There is no traditional lobby or reception room. Also, bear in mind that rooms are simple and some doubles are quite snug.

Awesome location, great food and drink, excellent breakfast choices and quaint atmosphere. Staff was fun and helpful.
