We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomBreakfast was a little bit of a let down, being self service and around the same quality as a Quality Inn or similar. We also would have liked to use the hotel for our week's parking, but parking is only available if you stay the night before your holiday. We wanted to stay the night of our return as it was a late flight; their system couldn't deal with that. As a general observation, we cant be the only people who would like that sort of parking deal.
The hotel is a very attractive country pile - you wouldn't think you were only a couple of miles from Gatwick airport. The room was large and well equipped, the common areas were swanky and the gardens looked lovely.

United StatesThe common areas such as the reception, the Bar and the Restaurant are not heated and during December it gets a little uncomfortable to have to wear a winter coat do dinner. Also I would suggest they update the Bar area with the look of a typical British Pub which would add atmosphere to enjoy a drink and chat with the other hotel guests.
Room was good and warm I stayed in December 2023. Breakfast and dinner were good.

United KingdomThe plug in the sink seemed to be stuck and wouldn’t drain away any water.. we only stayed one night and didn’t notice that the water had t gone until the morning and we left at 6:15 so staff were not informed. Rm 125 and 126 were the rooms we booked and 126 stated they could t seem to get the heating on?? I didn’t know until the morning and by then it was too late to look at it

United KingdomSome training is required in dealing with food intolerances and allergies. I didn’t feel confident in waiter’s knowledge of gluten and dairy in breakfast menu. As I am coeliac this information is essential and my experience didn’t match the response j received when enquiring about this area on making the reservation. Public toilet facilities were showing since of wear and tear needing maintenance as toilet missing push button to flush toilet.
Lovely historic building and grand entrance area. Attentive and efficient reception staff, nothing was too much trouble . Comfortable, spacious and quiet room with lovely views

United KingdomI liked everything, the family room could have been a bit less sparse. Perhaps bedside tables for the double bed could be considered as I had no place to put my book/phone/glasses. But that is really all.
The byilding is just beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good and the setting is very tranquil. The bathroom in the family room was fabulous and we all loved the bath.

NetherlandsWe were charged for two adult breakfasts as we left, apparently only children under 12 eat free even though we had booked a ‘breakfast included’ option and we could find this nowhere on the reservation. We had a 13 and 15 year old with us but they were not charged, fortunately the charges were dropped but it did affect how we felt about the stay and clearly something needs to be changed on bookings.com
