Had to wait an age for any hot water. Possibly down to age of building, or time it takes to reach the room.

Lovely location. Excellent team on site. Room was delightful.

Tasted like powdered scrambled eggs at breakfast - this is unnecessary, fresh eggs please.

Check in efficient and friendly. Room comfortable, grateful for an opening window. Breakfast mostly good, service a little foreboding, wanted to clear up.

Nothing, just one small grip, as it was a quite night the barman decided to deep clean the coffee machine, so we couldn't have a coffee, but he's lovely attitude made up for this.

The reception staff Lauren and Christina, were so very helpful with my booking ( there were 9 of us in total). As a disabled person I wanted to make sure everything was in place before our arrival and Lauren was so helpful and reassuring. Christina was also very kind and helpful, two brilliant ambassadors for the hotel, The hotel has been updated since my last visit, which I can understand, but the beautiful wooden balustrade has been painted! The hotel is beautiful and set in lovely grounds. Accessibility is good for disabled guests and my grandchildren loved the menu, in fact we all felt the food was good value for money and good quality. The parking fees are really good, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Just thought the menu and food presentation did not live up to the otherwise high standards of this hotel.

Very helpful reception team went beyond the norm to meet our room requirements. It’s a stunning hotel that did not feel like the big chain Hotels had got hold of it.

It was very much a one night stay hotel and perfect probably for going to Gatwick . Menu was very much pub food and the cod lion was not loon it was cod tail overcooked and wrapped up as a roll

It was well placed for where we needed to get to and room was clean and somewhere to put your head down for the night . The patio was a great place to have a drink and the staff both on reception and in the restaurant were excellent .

Very noisy, our room was at the top of the staircase and it was extremely noisy through the night which wasn’t ideal for a 3am alarm. Also had 2 drinks from the bar and came to over £20 which seems very steep

Beautiful property, parking and easy check in

The decor had been changed since my last stay and I disliked the painted natural wood, which to my mind was beautiful, and the hall carpets were stained. Apart rom that everything was good.

The breakfast was very good, although fresh plain yoghurt would have been nice, but the selection itself was good and the staff were lovely. The dinner menu was limited but what we ordered was very good, tasty and good value for money. Good size portions for both adults and children and the staff were very helpful and nice.. Always a smile. A big thank you to Lauren who helped sort out some booking requests. and generally is a total gem, and Christina who was also very kind and helpful. Thank you ladies we appreciated your help.

The breakfast could have been hotter. The plates were cold so the food did not stay very hot!

Everything was very good and the family all enjoyed spending the night here, following an Evening celebration meal for a special Birthday! Relaxing with no worries of travel and then sharing breakfast together in the morning.

Not much I didn't like. It's a grand house that has modern conveniences installed. I didn't have any complaints.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. For being a large, old home, they have done well to provide modern conveniences. USB charging ports near the bed, for example. Modern bathroom. Restaurant food was quite good.

Not as posh as it makes out! Restaurant was mediocre with value pub style meals and rather gritty laminated menus. Bar area dark and Spartan. No other facilities to speak of. Fine for a night before a flight but not great for a relaxing day. No lounge area either.

Lovely property in amazing grounds. Wonderful historic features in the building and no aircraft noise in rooms. Plenty of parking and a warm welcome from reception.
